From the Desk of President Janet Burt Dear White Mountain Rambler, New Hampshire s White Mountain Ramblers, Chapter 116 looks forward to the 2013 camping season when we travel to truly picturesque New England locations, from the White Mountains of New Hampshire, to the Massachusetts Atlantic Ocean, the Green Mountains of Vermont and the rocky shores of Maine. New England in the summer and fall is meant to be explored, and Chapter 116 members socialize, explore, shop and learn about history and culture during every campout. In June we will be exploring the Salem, MA Peabody Essex Museum s newest exhibit: In Conversation: Modern African American Art, and we will, led by our member Historian, be visiting a private maritime museum which will afford us the luxury of looking at primary source documents, while experiencing a panoramic view of the city of Salem and the ocean. In July, August and September we have campouts planned throughout New England, returning to some of our favorite sites, and also experiencing new locations. Of course, every campout includes great food and fun as we share new experiences that broaden our perspectives and our knowledge of the wider world in which we live. From New Hampshire s Chapter 116, I wish everyone a fun and safe summer of camping. Janet Burt, President Chapter 116, NH White Mountain Ramblers The Flag Ceremony held at the 49th Annual HRRVC International Rally in Goshen, Indiana May, 2013. STATE MANAGERS MEETING HRRVC - 2013 INTERNATIONAL RALLY, GOSHEN, IN MAY 16, 2013 By Lesley Lombardo, MA State Manager 1. Innumerable Caravan Process Forward information directly to Bob Bauspies (#21658) and copy Scott. Include as much information on the spouse and family as possible. Include HR#, address and phone number. 2. Ramblings Magazine Still accepting articles. Encourage chapters to submit articles. Upcoming deadlines are: June 2, September 2, and November 2. Please submit luncheons over the winter months. Members can let the office know the dates of winter addresses and the Ramblings will be sent to you. 3. Membership Memberships have leveled off -there are currently 2,750. There are blue stickers with all the HRRVC information that are being given to dealers to put inside the cabinets of used units. Discussion on how to grow membership. For new members, the info goes to HR and they pay the first year. Then Christi gets the list and sends out a new member packet. Ameritus members can hold office in Chapters. It takes 5 families to start a charter to make a chapter. Advise to keep the charter of any chapter that becomes inactive so that it can be reinstated. It only takes a couple of families to reinstate a chapter. It's acceptable to have a husband and wife as officers and to have families rotate to cover all officers. State Rallies can be in a different state than the state hosting the rally. 4. International Rallies 2014 There will be two rallies in 2014, an eastern and a western. The eastern rally will be in Ladson, SC (20 miles from Charleston, SC). EP will be September 21-23, and the rally will be September 24-28, out on the 29th. The western rally will be in Pahrump, NV in April. The date is still tbd, but is tentatively scheduled for the week prior to Easter. 2015 is still undecided, please forward any ideas of locations. 5. Issues of BOD The number of comps given at rallies has decreased resulting in fewer volunteers. 6. Operating Expenses In 2012, we had a surplus of $43,000. In 2011 it was $98 so our cuts have worked. We are expected to be in good shape for 2013. Looking ahead, 2014 we should be ok, but we may be in a loss situation for 2015. There are no more opportunities to make cost savings steps. Tentatively looking at cutting the number of issues of the Ramblings. 7. Forms 2 & 10 Issue State Manager has no idea when the forms are uploaded by the chapters, need to be in the loop. Directors will supply the info to State Managers, and when chapters make copies for their own books, they can also make a copy for the SM. Form 990 must be filed every 3 years. Form 2 will be able to make changes until the end of January. Form 10 -will be able to make changes until the end of November. 8. Miscellaneous Every 2 weeks Maria sends updated member info to Christi. Please ask members to keep their online information updated. Encourage chapters to make sure their campouts are updated. 6
