ITHAS SEMINAR 2018: 05-12 May 2018 ITHAS (International Tourism and Hospitality Academy at Sea) 2018 will again be held in Croatia May 5 th -12 th, on I.D. Riva oldtimer sailing boats. The ITHAS 2018 topic will be: MARINE TOURISM Participation: A total of 24 students from the Department of Tourism can participate in ITHAS 2018. Priority will be given to two groups: 1) Maximum 13 students from the 6 th or 7 th semester Bachelor course as participants in Daniel Metzler s seminar Tackling critical issues of marine tourism (Module 6.4). The seminar assignments will be set by Prof. Metzler. 2) Maximum 12 students from the 6 th or 7 th semester Bachelor course as participants in Ralph Berchtenbreiter s seminar Digital marketing in marine tourism (Module 6.4). The seminar assignments will be set by Prof. Berchtenbreiter.
Other students may participate without obtaining credits if places are still free. Registration procedure: Students can register online for ITHAS 2018 from Monday January 01 st to Sunday January 14 th. Registration and payment will be coordinated by the department s ITHAS 2018 student coordinator Tatjana Behret, who will be participating in the study trip. How do I register? Within the registration time slot starting January 1 st just send an e-mail to Tatjana Behret (tatjana.behret@gmail.com) with the following information: 1. Name 2. Semester 3. Your preferred Seminar (Metzler or Berchtenbreiter) Participation will be decided by lot (Losverfahren). The waiting list will also be decided by lot. If anyone drops out, their place will be offered to the next person on the waiting list. Cost: Student personal contribution: approx. 450,- per student (Total cost per student: approx. 700,-; 40% will be paid by Department of Tourism) The price includes full board on the boats plus harbour tax, all excursions, and overnight chartered bus Munich-Trogir and Trogir-Munich. The participants must pay their full student contribution of 450 by Friday Feb 02 nd. Payment will be coordinated by Tatjana Behret. Students from the waiting list will take their places if anyone has not paid by this date.
Dates: The chartered bus leaves Fröttmanning on Friday 4 th May (evening) and the return trip gets back to Munich on Sunday 13 th May (early morning). NB: The bus has been chartered, so any students who want to fly have to pay for their flights in addition to the full student contribution. What is ITHAS?
