1971 Navalimpianti Spa was established; at first there were only a small office in Via Ruffini 10 in Genova and a tiny pipes workshop in San Quirico, but only a couple of years later the new company moved to Ceranesi where the actual headquarter is still located.
1972 The strategic Monfalcone branch was established under the direction of Eng. Attilio Dall Osso.
1973 Navalimpianti Spa opened a new office in Palermo to follow the works in the Palermitan shipyard; after a couple of years the new branch Tecnimpianti Spa moved to the new industrial area in Termini Imerese.
1977 The first orders for CAE equipment (cargo access equipment) were secured; in the history of Navalimpianti Tecnimpianti CAE equipment over the years would become among the highlights of the production.
1985 1985 was a momentous date: the aircraft carrier Giuseppe Garibaldi built by the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone was officially handed over to the Italian Navy; we designed and built the two-elevators for the helicopters.
1987 1987 was the year of Micoperi 7000, at the time the largest ship in the world created to build oil platforms for offshore works. Navalimpianti Tecnimpianti built the davits for lifeboats, rescue boats and rafts, the giant fenders to protect the hull against possible impacts of the supply vessels and the pontoon hatches.
1990 On 29th June 1990 Fincantieri Monfalcone delivered to British P&O the unit Crown Princess, followed only a year later by the sistership Regal Princess. And Navalimpianti Tecnimpianti was proudly present with side doors, which the group managed to win after a great battle with foreign competitors, the tender platforms, the Proteus valves remote control system and the lifeboats davits. From that moment on, cruise ships would become a major area of production of the group; only a few years later, for three units of Holland America Line, the Statendaam, the Ryndam and the Maasdam, built in Fincantieri Monfalcone, the group produced, for the first time, the telescopic davits for life and tenderboats, a cutting-edge system designed by the company.
1993 Navalimpianti USA was established in Miami to look after service and maintenance of cruise vessels; today this branch is a productive reality with modern offices and with a cutting edge workshop.
1995 Another great intuition in terms of expansion dates back to mid-nineties: Navalimpianti was facing an overload of work and in the same years the historic shipyard Uljanic in Pula was facing a moment of serious difficulty; our management smelled immediately the potentiality of establishing a new strategic site in Pula... this is how Navalimpianti Pula was established, today a centre of engineering specialized in design and 3D.
1996 Today, after more than 20 years since their first use, the group is still the only worldwide producer of telescopic davits. There are today almost 200 cruise ships featuring the telescopic davit systems by Navalimpianti Tecnimpianti Group.
1997 Navalimpianti Tecnimpianti is also the worldwide leader in the design and production of swimming pool sliding covers; today there are almost 60 ships featuring Navalimpianti skydomes cruising the world s for the most prestigious shipping companies.
2000 In April 2000, P&O s Aurora, featuring the latest technologies and innovative solutions in terms of design and comfort, was being built at Meyer Werft. Among the orders secured by the group, there was the sliding cover of the pool, one of the most beautiful covers ever made, for its harmonious rounded form.
2001 Navalimpianti China was established offering commercial, technical and service support to shipowners operating in the far east and local shipyards because of the new orders secured since 1998 in China, Japan and Korea and in order to respond more promptly to the always major presence of the Asian market.
2005 2005-2010 In these years from 2005 to 2010 the Aida Cruises series commissioned to Navim by the German shipyard were successfully completed: Navalimpianti Tecnimpianti designed and supplied the side doors, the semi-gravity davits for life and tender boats and the telescopic davits for rescue and rafts.
2007 In 2007 Navim secured the order for the design and delivery of a very complex system for handling, moving and storing pipes on Castorone, the newest and largest pipelaying vessel PLV SAIPEM of the ENI group.
2008 In March 2008 the already leading presence in the maintenance sector is consolidated by the opening of the new strategic site of Tecnimpianti Antwerp in Belgium established to offer full assistance to Northern Europe Clients having the group s equipment on board their ships and/or new owners needing assistance and collaboration. Among the other prestigious orders acquired in these last years, it must be listed also the design and construction of the cabins module for Scarabeo 8, the semi-submersible offshore platform of Saipem, by Eni group.
2009 Among the works of absolute relevance, there is the design and manufacture of a revolutionary automatic securing mechanism to be used with the FOLS system (Fixed Outboard Launching System) realized for the 30 life and tenderboats for 150 people of the Carnival Dream built by Fincantieri Monfalcone and delivered in September 2009. In June 2009, Cavour, the new aircrafts carrier commissioned by Italian Military Navy to Fincantieri entered service; among Navalimpianti Tecnimpianti supplies there are two provisions elevators, one at the bow and one at the stern, the marina platform, the telescopic davits and relative hydraulic system for life, tender and rescue davits, the food and stores elevators, the Stern amphibious vehicles and hovercraft dock door, the bow and lateral ramps.
2010 2009-2010 These were the years of the delivery of the largest cruise ships ever, Royal Caribbean International & Ltd., Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas ; Navalimpianti Tecnimpianti worked with great enthusiasm and designed, manufactured and installed the side doors, the monorail, the mooring platforms and other doors for the loading of different materials as well as the elevators to board on the ship provisions and spare parts.
2011 In consideration of the necessity to reinforce the group s presence in the Far East Navalimpianti Emirates and Navalimpianti Singapore were established at the end of 2010. In 2011 the latest branch of the group was established Navalimpianti Norge AS located in Stavanger, Norway, an Offshore excellence centre.
2012 Tecnimpianti Livorno was established: a brand-new excellence centre dedicated to the design and manufacturing of Mega Yacht systems
2013 Between March and May 2013, Navalimpianti Tecnimpianti Group was involved with majestic and impressive refitting works for the refurbishment of the new Carnival Sunshine (formerly Carnival Destiny), which was carried out at Fincantieri Arsenale Triestino San Marco. On this occasion Navalimpianti designed and created new Telescopic Davits for 300 PAX; these are the first biggest telescopic davits ever built and Navalimpianti Tecnimpianti mantains its position as absolute leader in their production.
2014 The group secured the order for the design, production and installation on the new AIDA buildings, AIDAprima and sistership, which are being built in Japan at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
2015 The biggest Skydome ever designed and built by Navalimpianti Tecnimpianti was successfully installed on Viking Star, the first of a long series of new ocean liners presently in construction or recently delivered.
2015 Tecnimpianti Antwerp baptizes the new site and premises offering an even stronger presence and better solutions in Western Europe
2016 Navalimpianti Tecnimpianti secures the orders for the design and supply for the new innovative ships by Virgin Voyages
