Your World of Music
Dear Pacific Pride Choir Tour Member, We share in your excitement that your trip to Germany and Poland is finally almost here. This tour booklet provides an outline of the highlights of your trip and a detailed itinerary with flight and hotel details for you and those at home who may want to contact you. It also includes information that will be useful while you are in Europe. All the information is subject to change due to any circumstances beyond our control. Tour Documents Upon arrival at the Berlin hotel, you will receive a printed tour booklet, name badge (zippered pouch with a lanyard) and KI luggage tags. Please wear the name badge whenever you are participating in a tour program so our staff can easily recognize you. Passport Your passport is vital. Take care of it at all times. Do not pack it in your checkin baggage and do not leave it lying around. Keep a copy of your passport separate from your passport. And finally, we wish you a very pleasant and memorable time. - KIconcerts Team Pacific Pride Choir Page 3

With an area of more than 36,000 square meters, it is the largest department store of Galeria Kaufhof GmbH. Each of the six floors is as big as a football field. Page 4
14 JULY 2017 REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCES Exchange Concert with Rosa Cavaliere Choir at Emmauskirche, Berlin Founded in 1990 as a gay men s choir in Berlin, our ensemble now consists of around two dozen pink cavaliers. Schlager of the 20s and 30s formed our musical focus in the early years. Today the repertoire ranges from Gregorian chorales and song cycles of romance to rock and pop songs, to jazz interpretations, musicals and hits. Pacific Pride Choir Page 5
16 JULY 2017 REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCES Exchange Concert with Krakofonia at Teatr Nowy, Krakow The choir was founded for non-heterosexual people so that we could play music together and grow vocally and at the same time simply: be openly self-conscious. However, your identity or orientation does not in any way imply the ability to join the team - if all the letters of the LGBTQ acronym identify you with the letter F (friend), you are also very welcome! Teatr Nowy (New Theater) was founded by Piotr Sieklucki and established in 2006 as a non-profit association. It is the only private repertoire theater in Cracow. The activity of the New Theater as a non-governmental organization is based on the popularization of the latest dramaturgy, stage acting and directorial debuts, the production of theater performances and concerts, social activities (60+ New Age of Culture), education, publishing and exhibition. 17 JULY 2017 REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCES Outreach Concert at Jewish Community Centre, Krakow The Jewish Community Centre of Krakow is a Jewish cultural and educational centre that was created in 2008 as a result of an initiative of HRH The Prince of Wales. Pacific Pride Choir Page 7
18 JULY 2017 REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCES Exchange Concert with Chór Voces Gaudiae at Agnieszcka Osiecka Studio, Warsaw Chór Voces Gaudiae (Gay Voices), the first LGBTQ choir in Poland was founded in Warsaw in August, 2014. Their mission is to support the LGBTQ community through integration and education. Music Studio of Polish Radio, Agnieszka Osiecka is the oldest radio building in Warsaw, currently being renovated and modernized. At the end of the 19th century, it was a horse riding school for cavalry units stationed in the Great Baths which was completely destroyed in World War II and rebuilt in 1947, adapted to the needs of the radio station. A large music studio, designed by engineers Tadeusz Dąbrowski and Aleksander Janik, is located in the central part of the building. In the 1950s, it became the headquarters of the Warsaw Radio Orchestra, which was conducted by Stefan Rachoń, an accomplished musician for two decades. Page 8
