Participants can leave their luggage at the wardrobe. A conference assistant will await you there and lead you to the conference venue. You can reach the Low Chamber by public transport from the TERMINI station: Take Metro A Battistini, get off at station Barberini, Take bus 116 and get off at station Parlamento. Walk about 300m to Via di Campo Marzio 78.

PLEASE SEE BELOW THE DETAILS FOR DEPARTURE TIMES. Both conference venues are accessible to persons with disabilities. In case you need further assistance, please get in touch with the organisers. We will make any effort to accommodate your needs. Wireless Internet will be available throughout the entire conference venues. Several computer working stations with access to the Internet will be available in a dedicated area. GUIDED TOUR OF THE LOW CHAMBER (OPTIONAL) A guided tour of the Low Chamber in EN and FR will be simultaneously conducted and start at 11:45. Meeting point for interested participants: Entrance Via di Campo Marzio, 78. A wardrobe will be available to leave any personal belongings. At the end of the tour, the participants will be taken back to the starting point. ACCOMMODATION Accommodation for participants funded by the FRA has been reserved at The Interior Ministry School of Administration, the venue of the conference on 11 November. Prior to the meeting we will inform you about the details of your individual booking. Your accommodation will be booked for the duration of the conference from 10 to 11 November. Bookings for extra night(s) will be guaranteed and booked only in cases where no other appropriate travel arrangement can be made. Should you wish to extend your stay in Rome, we kindly ask that you take care of your own accommodation arrangements. Accommodation and breakfast will be paid by the FRA. IMPORTANT: Please be informed that the School offers accommodation as follows: Single rooms and double rooms for single use in the main building 14 apartments for 3 persons (3 bedrooms + 1 bathroom to share) 34 apartments for 2 persons (2 bedrooms + 1 bathroom to share) 20 apartments for 1 person Each participant will be accommodated in a single room. Most of participants will have to share a bathroom. 2

SHUTTLE (FROM THE LOW CHAMBER SCHOOL OF ADMINISTRATION AIRPORT / TERMINI STATION) Shuttle service will be provided as follows (provisional time table): TRAVEL Monday, 10 November: 18.30: departure to the School of Administration where also the reception will take place. Busses will wait at Piazza Colonna. Conference staff will guide you. 22:00: departure from the School of Administration back to Rome Termini Station (for local participants and self-paying participants). Tuesday, 11 November: From 07.30 on: Shuttle to the School of Administration (SSAI) is provided. 3 police busses or blue busses bearing the sign SSAI will be leaving from Termini Central railway station from 07.30 am on. The meeting point is opposite the main entrance near a green information booth of the Comune di Roma. From 17:15 on: departure to the airport (several grouped shuttles depending on the flight schedules) and departure to Termini Station Wednesday, 12 November: Morning: departure to the airport and Termini Station (several grouped shuttles depending on the flight schedules). Your travel arrangements will be booked by our event organiser, who will provide you with an electronic flight ticket. If we have booked a train ticket for you, the ticket will be sent to you via courier. Please note that according to our rules, participants should benefit from the most economical travel rates; by train, first class is foreseen. Kindly note, that parking costs, taxis and/or transportation from and to the airport or train station at place of origin as well as local transport in Rome are not reimbursed. However, shuttle between the two venues is provided. FRC greener and more socially responsible! The Fundamental Rights Conference aims to be a socially responsible and environment friendly event. To this end, conference documents will be printed on environmentally friendly paper. Moreover, we assessed greenhouse gas emissions linked to the energy consumption of the Fundamental Rights INTERPRETATION Simultaneous interpretation from/into French, Italian and English will be provided during all the plenary sessions. One out of five working groups will have French-Italian-English interpretation. CATERING On both conference days, lunches and coffee breaks will be served at the conference venues. An evening reception will be hosted by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights on Monday 10 November at the Interior Ministry School of Administration. 3

LOCAL TRANSPORT Please note that there will be no shuttle service for your travel from the airport to the Low Chamber on 10 November. We would kindly ask you to organise your travel independently. To get to Termini station from Rome Fiumicino Airport, you can use either public transport or taxi. Further information on the transfers Rome Airport Rome City can be found on http://www.rome-airport.info/in.html The airport is located 26 km southwest of the city of Rome. By train a) The Leonardo Express (Roma-Fiumicino Leonardo Express) is the direct train that serves the route between the airport and the centre of Rome (Termini Station) every 30 minutes. At Fiumicino, the station is part of the passenger terminal complex; no prior booking is required. One way fare: 14 euro. b) There is also the possibility to use the city s metropolitan train that has a correspondence with the Metro. The metropolitan train FR1 (linea FR1 Fara Sabina Fiumicino) links the airport of Rome with the regions Roma Tiburtina, Fara Sabina, Poggio Mirteto and Orte. Stamp your tickets in a yellow validation machine just before using it. One way fare: 8 euro. By taxi cab Taxis in Rome are white. There are fix fares from downtown to airports. City center (within the Aurelian Walls) to Fiumicino and vice-versa cost 48 euros. For others destinations fares are not fixed. You do not have to negotiate the price. Regular taxis have a taximeter. Be aware that Fiumicino is outside the city limits, this implies that the fare for the first part is higher (a number 2 appears on the meter). The driver is supposed to change the fare to number 1 once he hits the ring highway (G.R.A.) and enters the city limits. For further information, there is a Taxi Information Point inside the airport ( Punto Informazione Taxi del Comune di Roma ). Further information on: http://www.terravision.eu/rome_fiumicino.html One way fare: 6 euro (4 euro if booked online). b) Blue regular-size buses The bus-stop is located outdoors at ground level ~100 meters left from arrivals (terminals B&C). You can buy tickets at all tobacco shops (the shops have blue signs and are called Tabaccheria ). Termini station to the Low Chamber: Take Metro A Battistini, get off at station Barberini, take bus 116 and get off at station Parlamento. Walk about 300m to Via di Campo Marzio 78. 4
