Administrative note GDISC Annual Conference 25-26 June 2015 Vienna, Austria This note collects all practical information concerning the meeting. Registration Please register for the Conference at http://www.gdisc.org/index.php?id=721 no later than Monday, 20 April 2015. After this, rooms cannot be guaranteed in the suggested hotel. Therefore, we strongly advise to book as early as possible. The Conference starts on 24 June with a Welcome Dinner and finishes on 26 June after lunch. Conference venue: Federal Ministry of Interior Minoritenplatz 9 1014 Vienna, AT Meeting venue The premises of the Federal Ministry of Interior are situated at the subway station Herrengasse. By using the exit Minoritenplatz you will be standing right in front of the main entrance. Accommodation Please be aware that rooms need to be booked until Monday, 20 April 2015. When booking your room you need to either send or call them to give your credit card details as a guarantee. The rooms may be cancelled until 5 days before arrival (free of charge). Meals & social event Lunches, coffee breaks, the welcome dinner and the social event are provided by the FMI/Federal Office for Immigration and Asylum. All other expenses must be covered by the participants individually. The welcome dinner (24 June) will take place at Wirtshaus ZATTL, Freyung 6, 1010 Vienna. It will start at about 6pm. The restaurant is situated about 5 minutes walking distance from Hotel de France. The social event will be a guided city round trip after the first conference day (25 June). Meeting point will be at 6pm at Ballhausplatz. After the guided city round trip, participants will be brought to the dinner, which will take place at Heuriger Zeiler am Hauerweg, Rathausstraße 31, 1190 Vienna-Neustift am Walde. Return to the hotel by bus at approx. 9:30pm. For the meals there are vegetarian alternatives. If you have any allergies or other requirements, please let us know when registering for the Conference. Please note that any transfer within Vienna must be arranged and paid by the participants individually. From the airport Vienna city centre can be reached from the airport as follows: 1. Taxis Taxis are right in front of the arrival building of the airport. The fare depends on the destination in Vienna and is approx. 40 50. Trains City Airport Train (CAT): nonstop connection to Wien Mitte/Landstraße, where you have access to the underground (U3, U4) and taxis. The ride takes approx. 16 min. The trains run every 30 min.
