This rule also applies if/when the customer makes a voluntary change to their reservation. Same-Day Flight Change (SDFC), which was previously known as confirmed flight change, allows customers to confirm a seat on a different flight on the day of departure on any American Airlines or American Eagle flight where eligible seats are available. Customers can log on to aa.com, call Reservations to make the change or handle the transaction at the airport ticket counter or Self- Service Check-In machines. The alternate flights must be for the same itinerary and the flight change can only be confirmed within 24 hours of departure of the desired flight. Q: Can the agency make same day changes (SDFC) for their customers who purchased Choice Fare Options, or does AA have to make the SDFC? Non-Direct Connect agencies cannot fulfill SDFC themselves. Direct Connect agencies will have the ability to fulfill SDFC for bundle customers. Q. Are seats included in these fares? No. Non-elite seating options will continue to be available as an a-la-carte purchase. Elite customers will continue to have access to seat selections as they do today. AAdvantage and oneworld elite status members or a customer booked in Y qualify for Main Cabin Extra-MCE and Preferred Seats. These seats can be reserved in the GDS or SalesLink. Q. Does the base Choice product (i.e., not essential or plus) need a PTC to price, or does the base Choice product need just the normal lowest fare entries? No special pricing entry is required to price the Choice fares. The regular WP, etc., low fare entries apply in pricing these fares. Q. What are the pricing entries for the First and/or Business Choice products? The Pricing entries for the First and/or Business Choice products are the same entries that are used to price the Choice Essential (WPPPRO#XO) and Choice Plus (WPPTIM#XO) fares. Without the purchase of a coach Choice Essential or Choice Plus fare in the itinerary, the First and/or Business Choice fares will not be priced and/or sold.
Q. If a traveler is ticketed on a fare with Choice Essential and if the entire itinerary (date/routing) is exchanged/reissued to a new reservation, does the entire value of the first ticket apply to the second ticket? What if the second ticket is not priced with the PTC code of either PRO or TIM? The combination rules for each of the fare options (Choice, Choice Essential, and Choice Plus) indicate that the options can only be combined with the same types of fares whether on an end-onend basis or a half-roundtrip basis. The reissue rules are the same. The replacement fares on the ticket must be the same fare option as originally ticketed. Therefore, if the original itinerary was a Choice Essential or Plus fare and you do not use the PTC code of PRO or TIM to price the itinerary, the option will fail to auto-price. You must use the same PTC code for reissue pricing that was used for the initial purchase pricing. A Choice Plus fare ticket can only be exchanged/reissued for another Choice Plus fare ticket. A ticket cannot contain one bundle for the outbound and a different bundle for the inbound. The same bundle must apply to the entire ticket. Itinerary changes for travel after December 6, 2016 and within the ticket validity period you can Q. When you purchase a Choice Fare Option, the SSR field is updated with specific codes. What do the SSR codes mean? STBY for Same Day Standby for earlier flights only GRPO for Group 1 General Boarding. CKBE for Non-Elite Customers Baggage Charge Waiver. CKBP for Elite Customers Baggage Charge Waiver. DRNK for Complimentary Drink or Headset. BMAA for Additional AAdvantage Bonus Miles (non-elite qualifying). Updated: September 27, 2016
