(MOL; President: Koichi Muto) today announced the On Time Arrival Performance quarterly results for July to September for the major trade lanes as an effort of upgrading and improving the quality of services MOL Liner offers. MOL has established a set of goals for KPIs including on time arrival performance to offer industry-leading transparency to customers and to showcase MOL's strength as a carrier that provides high quality service. (Press release issued on March 2, 2012) Measurement criteria are: Scope of trade lanes is East-West Trade: North-South Trade: Intra Asia Trade: Asia-U.S. West Coast, Asia-U.S. East Coast, Transatlantic, Asia- Europe, Asia-Mediterranean Asia-East Coast South America, Asia-Mexico/West Coast South America Intra Asia When a vessel arrives at the first port of destination area for both directions, eastbound and westbound, within 24 hours of scheduled time of arrival, the voyage is regarded as On Time Arrival. In each trade, Table 1 covers all vessels in the above scope and Table 2 covers vessels under MOL operations. Both results are weight-averaged based on MOL space allocation of each service. 1
I. East-West Trade (Table 1) Trade Lane (No. of services) Asia - U.S. West Coast MOL East-West Trades On Time Arrival Performance (All vessels) (October September ) (14) 83% 79% 79% 65% Asia - U.S. East Coast (6) 62% 52% 52% 49% Transatlantic (3) 67% 35% 43% 56% Asia - Europe (5) 47% 54% 38% 20% Asia - Mediterranean (2) 84% 74% 61% 60% The following performance criteria were used: Measured 30 services on MOL s East-West trade route on all vessels (Table 2) Trade Lane (No. of services) MOL East-West Trades On Time Arrival Performance (MOL vessels under our operation) (October September ) Asia - U.S. West Coast (2) 100% 95% 98% 97% Asia - U.S. East Coast (2) 92% 63% 58% 56% Transatlantic (1) 53% 26% 30% 50% Asia - Europe (3) 63% 74% 46% 21% Asia - Mediterranean (0) 100% 50% The following performance criteria were used: N/A Service suspended since April N/A Service suspended since April 2
Measured 8 services on MOL s East-West trade route on MOL s own vessels Note: Overall U.S. West Coast on-time performance decreased due to congestion at Vancouver. However, MOL vessels on-time performance remains high since MOL operating services do not call Vancouver. U.S. East Coast on-time performance has yet to improve due to the ongoing terminal congestion at Singapore. Transatlantic on-time performance improved due to easing of terminal congestion at New York. Asia-Europe on-time performance decreased due to worsening of terminal congestion at Rotterdam, Hamburg and Southampton. Asia-Mediterranean on-time performance was yet to be improved due to prolonged congestion at Singapore. 3
II. North-South Trade The below services are measured: Asia - ECSA ( East Coast South America ) (CSW) Asia - Mexico/WCSA ( West Coast South America ) (CWL - former WL1) The measuring ports are as follows: Service South Bound (Asia to ECSA) First Discharge port North Bound (ECSA to Asia) CSW (14/14) Santos Singapore Service East Bound (Asia to WCSA) First Discharge port West Bound (WCSA to Asia) CWL (3/11) Manzanillo, Mexico Tokyo Note: (number of MOL vessels / number of all vessels in a service) (Table 1) MOL North-South Trades On Time Arrival Performance Trade Lane (No. of services) (All vessels) (October September ) Asia - ECSA (CSW) (1) 87% 100% 72% 71% Asia - Mexico/WCSA (CWL) (1) 82% 76% 79% 81% The following performance criteria were used: Measured 2 services on MOL s North South trade route. 4

MOL vessels CWL on-time performance improved to 88% in Q3, from 67% in 2Q, although severe port congestion at Shanghai, Ningbo and Hong Kong continued to cause delays. 5
III. Intra Asia Trade The below services are measured: Japan Hong Kong/Straits (CHS/HS3) Japan Philippines/Thailand (CBE/CBW) The measuring ports are as follows: Service South Bound North Bound CHS (3/3) Singapore Tokyo HS3 (3/4) Singapore Osaka CBE (3/3) Laem Chabang (R1) Tokyo CBW (3/3) Manila (R2) Osaka (R1) For improvement of on-time performance, Laem Chabang single call was implemented from Q2 onwards. Thus, the new Laem Chabang arrival time was set for the measurement of CBE South Bound on-time performance. (R2) CBW South Bound Measuring port is changed from Laem Chabang to Manila in Q3. Note: (number of MOL vessels / number of all vessels in a service) 6

Note: In Q3, CHS and HS3 on-time performance decreased due to berth congestion at Hong Kong and Singapore. In consideration of prolonged congestion, MOL implemented HS3 Port Kelang single call to improve on-time performance with effect from October. CBE on-time performance remained low due to prolonged berth congestion and low terminal productivity at Manila. In consideration of the prolonged congestion and decreased on-time performance, MOL implemented Laem Chabang single call Q2. MOL also deployed an extra vessel for schedule recovery measures for one cycle in July and have since added an additional ship from September to the service to ensure all necessary actions were being taken to improve our on-time performance. CBW on-time performance was severely impacted by worsening berth congestion and low terminal productivity at Manila. In consideration of prolonged congestion and decreased on-time performance, MOL deployed an extra vessel for schedule recovery measures in September and have since maintained the additional ship in the service to ensure all necessary actions were being taken to improve on-time performance. In regard to Manila calling services, MOL is considering further counter-measures to improve on-time performance. 8
