DAY 1 POSITANO Daily Mileage - Hike: 1 hr, approx. 3 miles Riding Terrain - 300 ft elevation gain/loss Hotel - Conca D Oro Location: Positano Duration: 3 Nights www.hotel-concadoro.com Today you can either catch our group shuttle from Salerno train station at 12 pm or meet us at 2 pm on the terrace of our first hotel overlooking the bay. After a light lunch, introductions and an orientation, we begin our tour with a short hike through the town of Positano to an old cemetery built into the side of the cliff town. Navigating through the intricate maze of rooftops and tightly stacked homes, we descend back down to Positano where you can stop for a gelato at a beachfront café. In the evening, visit a waterside restaurant tucked away in a cove for a beautiful moonlight dinner. The superior Conca D Oro is located in the most desirable spot of Positano. If you are looking for a relaxing place this is the ideal location for you. DAY 2 MONTEPERTUSO Daily Mileage - Hike: 6 hrs After breakfast, we hike north through olive groves and farmland to the hamlet towns of Montepertuso and Santa Maria di Castello. Our afternoon hike brings us to treetop level before descending back down to Positano. Riding Terrain - Many stone steps, 2,400 ft elevation gain/ loss Hotel - See Day 1 DAY 3 CAPRI & VILLA JOVIS Daily Mileage - Hike: 3 hrs Riding Terrain - Some stairs, ascending smooth stone pathways to the Villa We take an early morning ferry (1 hr) to Capri. From Capri s port, we walk on pedestrian lanes up to Villa Jovis, the site of our relaxing lunchtime picnic. After we tour the Roman ruins, we wander Capri s elegant lanes or continue on a panoramic walk to see the famous Faraglioni. In the late afternoon, we return by ferry to Positano. DAY 4 AMALFI & RAVELLO Daily Mileage - Hike: 3 hrs in the afternoon Riding Terrain - Stone steps all uphill to Ravello Hotel - Hotel Giordano Location: Ravello Duration: 2 Nights http://www.giordanohotel.it/ en/location After breakfast, we walk down to sea level for a boat shuttle to Amalfi. Once in Amalfi, we enjoy a private guided walking tour of this maritime republic: its glorious cathedral, cloister, and covered pedestrian lanes. After lunch, we begin an uphill walk to the coastal town of Atrani and then hike the Lattari hills from Atrani to Ravello (1,187 ft) through lemon and chestnut groves. We arrive in Ravello in late afternoon to explore the 12th C cathedral and exquisite villas and gardens! Dinner is on your own. Hotel Giordano is a traditional Mediterranean villa with a pretty tiled reception area and rooms. The pool and restaurant are located on the lower level. DAY 5 VALLE DEI MULINI Daily Mileage - Hike: 5 hrs Riding Terrain - Narrow footpaths through the hills, sometimes uneven and rocky Visit the beautiful gardens of Villa Cimbrone in Ravello in the morning, then hike through chestnut groves between Ravello and Amalfi, through S. Caterina (1,725 ft) and Scala (1,236 ft). Visit the 12th century church in Scala. We ll have lunch in Pontone (446 ft). After lunch we descend back to Amalfi (65 ft) through the famous Valle dei Mulini (valley of the paper mills). We ll then visit a limoncello (lemon liqueur) factory in the afternoon. From Naples Centrale Station you can catch a train (www.trenitalia.com) to Salerno (1.5 hrs) to meet our 12 pm group shuttle* on day 1 (approx. 1.5 hrs), or buy a ticket for the 1 hr Circumvesuviano train to Sorrento, then take a bus to Positano (40 min). INSURANCE, TERMS & CONDITIONS Insurance Ciclismo Classico will not assume responsibility or liability for any loss or damage of personal effects or for any injury or loss during the duration of the tour. Therefore, we highly recommend that you obtain travel insurance. Information on travel insurance will be sent to you via email once trip deposit is received. We recommend MH Ross, but travelers may choose the insurance carrier of their choice. Cancellations and Refunds All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing as soon as possible to Ciclismo Classico. Exceptions to their cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason, including weather or personal emergencies. There is no refund for unexpectedly leaving a trip early or arriving late. The purchase of short-term travel insurance policy is strongly recommended. Cancellation fees are determined as follows: Days before departure Cancellation fee 121+ days - 50% of the deposit* 91-120 days - 100% of the deposit* 61-90 days - 30% of the trip price 31-60 days - 60% of the trip price 0-30 days - 100% of the trip price *You may transfer your trip deposit to another departure in the same tour season up to 90 days before your original departure with payment of a $100 per person transfer fee. Prices quoted are subject to adjustment without prior notification. OR your deposit (currently $600) may be carried forward to the following year as a credit toward the final balance of a tour. At the time of booking, we will ask for another $600 deposit to secure your spot. Carried-forward credits expire at the end of the year to which they are applied. Alterations to the tour itinerary Sometimes modifications may be made to the itinerary. We will notify you of any changes that may affect your arrival, departure or lodging.
