Day 01 ARRIVAL CANBERRA On arrival at Canberra. International Airport SIC transfers to your hotel for check in rest and relax. National Museum of Australia: Australia s stories come alive at the National Museum of Australia. The Museum s stunning architecture offers visitors an extraordinary place to explore rich, diverse stories of Australia and people. There are many displays and exhibitions to explore. Return to the City shopping precinct for an afternoon of exploring. The national Arboretum features 94 forests of rare, endangered and symbolic trees from around Australia and the World. Two of the forests are nearly 100 years old. Your lunch venue offers uninterrupted views of the city. Visit The Parliament House, The meeting place of a nation. Featuring impressive architecture, a stunning art collection and see a beautiful landscape. Parliament House is a must see for visitor shrine, Day 02 CANBERRA (BKF/LCH) Today enjoy a full day sic sightseeing tour and lunch at the National Arboretum and visits: The Museum of Australia Democracy: A national Icon, a place of great beauty, magnificent design and historical significant, Take a moment to enjoy the adjoining Rose Gardens. National Gallery of Australia: The National gallery is Australia s national art museum and one of the largest museums in the country. It holds more than 166,000 unique works of art.
Australia War Memorial, The Australia War Memorial combines a shrine, world class museum and extensive architecture. The Memorial commemorates the sacrifice of those who died in war. Mount Ainslie, View Walter Burley griffin s vision for the city with an extensive across from the top of Mount Ainslie. Return to your hotel rest and relax. SIC Tour Operates on: Minimum 04 Apply Departs 9.00am-5pm After lunch, we travel to Narooma to observe the local Stingrays & Australian Fur Seals en-route back to Canberra stop over at Potato point to walk amongst wild Kangaroos and maybe see an Emu. Day 05 PUFFING BILLY STEAM TRAIN & HEALESVILLE WILDLIFE (BKF) DEP:8.20 AM & RET: 5.30PM DEPARTS: MON/WED/FRI/SUN (K15) After breakfast, make your way to join your SIC tour. This morning you re going to enjoy some good old fashioned fun and the most beautiful rainforest in Victoria. We ll get your day started with a journey through Melbourne s eastern suburbs and views of the Dandenongs in the distance. On arrival you ll be charmed by the surrounding mountain hue and crisp clear air. While here you ll enjoy a traditional Devonshire Tea of homemade scones, served warm with jam and cream. Included Meals: Devonshire Tea The Dandenongs The Dandenong Ranges, known to the locals as the Dandenongs, are beautiful low mountain ranges just 35kms east of Melbourne. At their peak, they rise to more than 630 metres and are cloaked in lush rainforests of Mountain Ash trees (the tallest flowering plant in the world), waterfalls, rolling hills and steep valleys. The region is home to the famous Puffing Billy Railway, arts and craft stores and cafe s offering delicious homemade produce. Grants on Sherbrooke & Devonshire Tea Nestled in the heart of the Dandenong Mountains is Grants on Sherbrooke a haven in the wilderness. Hand Feeding the Bird Life Grants on Sherbrooke is a paradise for bird life and you can handfeed some of the most striking Australian birds such as the colourful Crimson Rosella, Sulphur-crested Cockatoo and Pink-chested Galah. Make sure you have your camera on hand for some great photos. Puffing Billy Steam Train Next you head to Belgrave, home of the famous Puffing Billy Steam Train, where you are in for some fun! This century-old steam train is maintained in its original glory and runs to this day on its own mountain track from Belgrave to Menzies Creek. Here you ll go back in time as you get on board for a 30 minute ride through the heart of the rainforest. You ll head through the gorgeous Sherbrooke Forest and ride over the old Trestle Bridge. Just before Menzies Creek you can see stunning views of Port Phillip Bay. You re going to love it!
Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary Now you re off to explore the Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary and meet some Aussie wildlife. Set in a natural bushland environment this Sanctuary is home exclusively to Australian wildlife. Here you can walk the paths through the numerous habitats to see wallabies, wombats, koalas, kangaroos, dingoes and more than 200 native bird varieties. Day 06 A GREAT OCEAN ROAD ADVENTURE K4 (BKF) After breakfast, make your way to join SIC tour. View the popular coastal townships of Torquay and Lorne - a surfer's haven and retreat. Pass world famous Bells Beach, home to World Surfing Championships. See many fern filled gullies and river inlets on your journey. Travel the length of the Great Ocean Road passing towering limestone cliffs, sweeping white beaches and stunning Forest scenery. Truly one of the world's great scenic coastal drives. Witness a fabulous spectacle of massive natural erosion. Contrasts abound between rugged coast and verdant rainforest living side by side. See the amazing Twelve Apostles - limestone stacks rising dramatically from the Southern Ocean and visit the Information Centre. Walk along the boardwalk and enjoy the scenery from various viewing platforms. See Loch Ard Gorge and be swept away by the romantic and tragic story of love and lives lost aboard the Loch Ard. Explore Port Campbell National Park. Discover the tragic history of over 50 ships wrecked along this rugged coastline. Continue beyond Port Campbell to the remnants of London Bridge.
