Contents 8-15 Around Africa & the Indian Ocean 16-23 Around the World with Australia & the South Pacific Islands Fred. Olsen Grand Voyages Let Fred. Olsen take you on an unparalleled adventure to iconic cities, spectacular scenery and world-renowned historic sites. Don t miss Cape Town for imposing Table Mountain, glorious vineyards and its famous waterfront; Singapore for an excellent array of shops and eateries; and Sydney, where the world-famous Opera House spectacularly emerges into view as you approach the city by sea. A Fred. Olsen Grand Voyage is not just about ticking off places on your must-see list, it s also an endlessly rewarding journey for those looking to explore exciting, lesser-known destinations, off the tourist trail. Months of careful planning creates the ideal blend of ports of call. Soon, our intimately-sized ships become your home-from-home as you comfortably sail from one exciting destination to another, without the hassle of having to fly. Boudicca s Around Africa & the Indian Ocean odyssey takes in 14 countries and 20 ports within the African continent including Mauritius and the Seychelles offering an ideal combination of culture-rich experiences, jaw-dropping landscapes, exotic wildlife and sublime sun-drenched beaches. This 76-night sailing allows time to really explore Africa and its surrounding countries in depth. Meanwhile, sister ship Black Watch heads off on an entirely different voyage, circumnavigating the world. On this spectacular journey, delve into a beautiful reverie of exotic, far-flung locations, from uninhabited islands to vibrant cities. Sail a stunning cluster of tropical South Pacific islands; unravel history in Peru; explore iconic sites in Australia; and discover diverse cultures in India, Sri Lanka and Burma. Little wonder, perhaps, that for many of our guests a Fred. Olsen Grand Voyage turns out to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience they choose to repeat. 24-25 Boudicca Deck Plans 26-27 Black Watch Deck Plans Special cruises at very special prices A Grand Voyage is an indulgence without doubt, but you ll find it costs less than you d think. With some cruise lines your time on board can cost as much as the cruise itself, with high charges for almost everything you want to do. At Fred. Olsen we take a different approach. The very reasonable prices include comfortable cabin accommodation, on board leisure facilities, all meals, special interest lectures and live entertainment every evening. Celebrating a birthday, anniversary or retirement, to revisit favourite destinations, or just because there s a whole world waiting to be explored and there s no time like the present whatever your reason for choosing a Fred. Olsen Grand Voyage, you ll enjoy great value as well as experiences that will stay in your memory forever. Almost everything's included Comfortable en-suite accommodation with TV, hairdryer, safe and individually controlled air conditioning All meals throughout your cruise from five course à la carte dining, to casual buffets and late night snacks Tea and coffee throughout the day and early evening, including morning coffee with biscuits, afternoon tea with sandwiches and cakes, and in-cabin sandwiches and snacks All evening entertainment, including dancing and cabaret shows On board leisure facilities including gym, swimming pools and Jacuzzis A choice of daily on board activities and lectures Captain s Drinks Party and Gala Buffet Baggage porterage to your cabin 3

Cruising Fred. Olsen style... bringing you closer Everything about Fred. Olsen is more personal. We re a family-run company with a long shipping heritage. Rather than worrying about having the biggest ships, packed with gimmicks like climbing walls and zip-wires, we prefer more traditionally built, smaller-scaled vessels that allow for a more personal service, where you get closer to the people and places around you. This special atmosphere is perfect for a Grand Voyage: the ship becomes like a particularly welcoming village, sailing around the globe. Small is beautiful Our ships are large enough to be spacious, comfortable and uncrowded, but still small enough to be the kind of place where you can feel relaxed and able to put your feet up. This size advantage means we can reach places that some of the mammoth cruise ships can t access. We take you closer to your favourite destinations. Holidays that ll keep you coming back year after year The experienced, friendly crew, along with like-minded guests, help to create a warmer, friendlier atmosphere. Everyone quickly gets to know one another and soon the ship feels like a homefrom home. All our crew want you to have a holiday to remember. They know that it s the little things that make the difference, like the smiling barman who remembers your name and your favourite tipple. That s why last year more than half our guests had travelled with us before. Award-winning holidays We ll do our best to give you the holiday of a lifetime but don t just take our word for it. We were awarded Best Affordable Cruise Line 2013 by the readers of Cruise International magazine and runner up in the Best Cruise Line category. We were also delighted to have been voted Best Value for Money 2013 in the Cruise Critic UK Editors Picks Awards for the second consecutive year. Plus, in 5,600 independent guest reviews, 95% rated us Excellent or Good and, scoring 86%, we were the second highest rated cruise line in the 2013 Which? Holiday Survey. In 5,600 independent guest reviews, 95% rated us Excellent or Good Scoring 86%, we were the 2 nd highest-rated cruise line in the 2013 Which? Holiday Survey 4

Dining on board At Fred. Olsen, we know that dining on board is one of the experiences that makes your cruise so memorable. This is why our team of expert chefs painstakingly plan sumptuous menus of carefully prepared meals, designed to make your mouth water. Every day our menus are something special, with dishes varying from appetisers such as herb marinated salmon or crabmeat cocktail, to indulgent main courses like sirloin steak or pan seared snapper with scallops and fabulous desserts such as white chocolate parfait. Health and well-being With all the delicious food served by our friendly waiters, it is really easy to indulge. For those who want to stay trim on board, there is a gym on every Fred. Olsen ship along with classes offering pilates, aerobics, yoga and other fitness activities. Whilst you re on board, also take advantage of the Atlantis Spa and book a wonderfully calming massage, facial or manicure. Or relax by the pool and laze in the Jacuzzi as the ship cruises to your next port of call. 5

Shore Tours Our cruises have been carefully designed to show you as many interesting places as possible. So that you can gain the most from your experiences ashore, we offer a wide range of half- and full-day Shore Tours, along with longer, overland tours venturing further, to really bring each destination to life before your eyes. The following pages in this brochure mention tours that range from the ideal introduction, visiting the main sights, to enriching experiences suitable for the most inquisitive traveller. These optional Shore Tours are available to book from a couple of months before sailing. We also list activities that can be experienced independently. The information is researched in order to minimise the risk of any errors, but it may be subject to change at any time. Shore Tours are subject to availability and service operation. A detailed programme confirming optional tours for your cruise will be sent to you prior to departure. Accommodation We pride ourselves on the comfort provided on all our ships. Black Watch and Boudicca are fitted with a wide selection of cabins and suites to suit your tastes. These are detailed in the deck plans on pages 24-27. 6

Our ships Black Watch Originally built as a world cruiser, Black Watch features a large number of balcony cabins and suites and accommodates 800 passengers in space and comfort. After a day in port, or enjoying some of the activities available on board, the focus of the evening is dinner, followed by live entertainment. The Braemar Garden Café is the place for informal dining, as an alternative to the impressive main restaurant, Glentanar: great cuisine s one of the highlights of our cruises. You ll also want to try our new Grill restaurant, where for a small charge you can enjoy a very special dinner, dining al fresco. Every evening there are performances in the main Neptune Lounge, with a further show in the Lido Lounge, so your time on board is just as much fun as your time exploring ashore. Discover all the highlights of cruising on Black Watch at www.fredolsencruises.com/our-ships/black-watch Boudicca Boudicca was the heroic warrior queen of the British Iceni tribe. And we like to think our truly British, world class cruise ship lives up to the name. Up to 880 people can enjoy a cruise on board Boudicca not the thousands to be found on most ships these days so there s plenty of space for everyone. And Boudicca is small enough to reach shores many rival cruise ships cannot. Inside, indulge yourself at the Tintagel and Four Seasons Restaurants or dine al fresco in the Grill, for an occasional enhanced dinner experience. Lounge around on the Lounge Deck, or in one of our two Jacuzzis. Or splash around in one of our two pools. And when the sun s shining, our tasty poolside buffet will hit the spot. Aqaba Shore Tour: The Lost City of Petra Discover the world-famous stone city of Petra. Sharm el-sheikh, Egypt Indulge in your choice of snorkelling or swimming in Sharm el-sheikh, or simply relax on the fabulous sandy beaches. Cruising the Suez Canal Transit the marvel of engineering that is the Suez Canal. This impressive man-made waterway crosses the Isthmus of Suez, which divides the Mediterranean from the Red Sea. It s 101 miles long and one of the world s busiest shipping lanes. Port Said, Egypt An important staging post for big ships passing through the Suez Canal, Port Said is the gateway for tours to the legendary Pyramids of Giza which you won t want to miss. You ll take away a wealth of memories of the ancient world, made all the more impressive as these huge structures were built without the advantages of modern technology. The Taj Mahal is an architectural masterpiece. One of the Seven Wonders of the World, it stands on the banks of the Yamuna River in Agra, India and attracts millions of tourists each year. This extravagant mausoleum is one of the greatest love stories ever told, having been built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Constructed by 20,000 workers over 22 years, the intricate design is made up of white marble and precious stone. It was finally completed in 1653. The beauty of the Taj Mahal which some say has never been surpassed can be experienced on a Fred. Olsen extended tour from Tuticorin, which also takes you to the famous sights of Delhi, Agra and Rajasthan. www.fredolsencruises.com Fred. Olsen House, White House Road, Ipswich, IP1 5LL
