Information about events and activities added to this year's Fair excitement were announced today by Fair officials. New this year is the $18 A.V. Fair Season Admission Pass, which is valid for entry every day of the Fair. The $18 Season Pass can only be purchased online at www.avfair.com. Fair 2017 Special Days include: Opening day, Friday, August 18th: Admission and Parking: Free from 4pm - 5pm only. Senior & Special Needs Citizen's and Kid's Day, Monday, August 21: Admission is free for Seniors (62+) and Special Needs Citizens (w/1 caregiver) all day/night. Parking is also free from 2-4pm only. A complimentary lunch will be available from 2-3pm only (while supplies last) at the Corona Cantina. where singer Rat Pack Ricky will perform on the Cantina stage. Kid's (11 & under) are free after 4pm. Grace Resources Canned Food Drive, Wednesday, August 23 rd, from 4pm to 6pm only. Bring 5 cans of food per person, and receive 1 free admission, and 1 free ride pass. Rotary Club of Lancaster Book Drive, Thursday, August 24th, from 4pm to 6pm only. Bring in one new, or 3 gently used elementary level books and receive 1 free admission and 1 ride pass. Military Appreciation Day, presented by Budweiser, and sponsored by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.) and National Electrical Contractors Association (N.E.C.A) is also on August 24th. Admission is free for active and retired military and their dependents with I.D.s. From 4pm to 7pm, free branch insignia lanyards, courtesy of Budweiser, will be distributed to military servicemen and women as they come in on a red carpet at the main entrance to the fairgrounds. Free Military Loved Ones and Military Brat dog tags sponsored by IBEW/NECA will be given to military 1

dependents, while supplies last. Military Appreciation Day will also feature a tribute performance by the Palmdale High School Chamber Singers at 7:30 p.m. before the start of the Rally Kia Arena Event Figure 8 races sponsored by Cullen Insurance, in the Miller Lite Grandstand Arena. At 8:30 p.m., singer Rat Pack Ricky will pay tribute to Sinatra, Martin and more in a performance at 8:30 p.m. in the Marco and Sandra Johnson Foundation Grand Oasis. The cele-grape-tion continues on Military Appreciation Day with the Buy a Buddy a Brew pay-it-forward promotion, where people can buy a domestic beer at any bar for $8.50, indicate a military branch, and the next active or retired military personnel with ID from that branch will get the paid-forward beer. The A.V. Fair encourages Antelope Valley Kids to read with the Alfie's Read and Ride Program. Youth ages 5 14 years read 3 books, then completely fill out the Official Read & Ride book report form that can be downloaded from www.avfair.com, with brief summaries of approximately 25 words in length, each. Children ages 5 and 6 are welcome to draw pictures instead. Books must be approved by the student s teacher, parent, or guardian as appropriate for the student s age and reading level. The adult signs the form verifying that the student has completed the books. Students bring the completed and signed form to the A.V. Press InFAIRmation booth just inside the main entrance to the Fair August 18-27, 2017 to redeem their coupon (good for 3 rides*). Students MUST be present to redeem. The infairmation booth opens daily at 4pm. *Excludes any extreme rides. Safety guidelines apply. Open to the community is the A.V. Fair Selfie contest to win a 4-pack of Fair Admission tickets. Participants are encouraged to take a Selfie with an A.V. Fair poster displayed at various locations throughout the Antelope Valley, post it on one (1) of these A.V. Fair's social media sites: Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag: #AVFairSelfie2017, and tag the A.V. Fair @AntelopeValleyFair on Facebook or @AVFairgrounds on Instagram or Twitter. No USies/group photos accepted. Two winners will be chosen weekly based on creativity reflected in the selfie, and their winning entry will be posted on the Fair's social media sites. Details at www.avfair.com. NEW SHOWS McCarty BMX Show. BMX freestyle stunts on Box Jumps and ramps will be performed daily Mon.- Fri.: 6pm, 7;30pm and 9pm and Sat./Sun.: 6pm, 7:30pm, 9pm and 10pm by a team that has been riding 2

and performing for over 15 years. McCarty BMX performers are a dedicated team professional riders that have been featured in magazines and competitions such as the X-Games, Dew Tour, BMX Freestyle, etc. The McCarty BMX show stresses the importance of safety equipment, staying away from violence, how to say "No" to drugs, anti-bullying and how to focus on goals. A Walk On The Wild Side (Exotic Animal) Show. A Walk on the Wild Side is a non-profit 501c3 organization from Oregon dedicated to helping all species of wild animals who, for various reasons, find themselves without a place to live out their lives. They are the most diverse exotic non-profit animal refuge of its kind and plan to bring the following ambassador animals to the Fair: a Cougar, Wallaby baby, Canadian Lynx, baby Lion, Binturong and Bobcat! Also on site will be Pacific Animal Productions (reptiles), Imagination Gallery, Mind Works (hands-on science), and more! New this year is Antelope Valley Fair Tech Expo, sponsored by Antelope Valley Union High School, Choices in Learning National Foundation and the I.B.E.W./NECA. The Tech Expo will feature STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) projects and activities throughout the Antelope Valley by Academies of the Antelope Valley, Antelope Valley Union High School District, A.V. College's new Water Technology trailer, A.V.U.H.S.D.-Eastside High School (Biomedical Pathway), A.V. School District - LAMPE Academy, California State University at Long Beach - AV Engineering Program, Daisy Gibson School, Keppel Unified School District (Femineers), Knight H.S. Digital Design & Engineering Academy, Lancaster H.S. FIRST Robotics Team 399 (Eagle Robotics), Palmdale H.S. - Health Careers Academy, Palmdale H.S. - Falcon Academy of Sustainable Technologies, Palmdale School District, Rosamond High School, Tehachapi School District, The Palmdale Aerospace Academy, Westside Union School District, and professional associations: Air Force Lab, Flight Test Historical Foundation, Society of Experimental Test Pilots, and Society of Flight Test Engineers - A.V. Chapter. LITTLE WRANGLER ROUND UP The Fun and Funny Little Wrangler Round Up, sponsored by Waste Management, combines 3 events for young participants. The first event takes place on August 20 th at 5pm in the R. Rex Parris Show - MORE- 3

Arena. The Kinder-wrangler events has children ages 5-8 years old posing with their barnyard buddies. The Mini Goat Obstacle Course takes place on August 22 nd at approximately 5pm for Exhibitors ages 5 & 6 and ages 7 to 9. The Small Animal Costume Contest follows the Mini Goat Obstacle Course where kids and their animals compete in the following costume categories: Best Fair Theme, Best Dressed, Most Comical and Best Look Alike. WINE TASTING AT LA PLAZA A wine tasting event will take place on August 24 th, from 7pm 9pm in La Plaza gazebo. Fair patrons interested in wine tasting will purchase a $10 wristband at the La Plaza Bar. Wine will be provided by the following vintners: Antelope Valley Winery, Agua Dulce Winery & Vineyard, Coruce Vineyards and Winery, Golden Star Vineyards & Winery and Sawmill Mountain Vineyards. STAGES The Camacho Auto Sales/Mitsubishi Hypnotist & Community Stage will feature nightly Tina Marie Hypnotist Shows at 8:30pm & 10:30pm (8/27: 8:30pm & 10pm), Kid's activities on Saturdays and Sundays, and Community talent performances. A second community stage has been added this year, the City of Lancaster South Park Community Stage. The new City of Palmdale La Plaza Stage will feature nightly performances by Mariachi Descendencia, Grupo Folkorico Antelope Valley on 8/18 at 4pm, and Banda Rinconcito on 8/20 and 8/25 at 8pm. High Desert Broadcasting radio station, Que Buena 96.1, will host nightly dance parties with DJ David Illuzion entertainment at 9pm in La Plaza Gazebo. Club Heat 100.9/Adelman Broadcasting: DJs, live music Fridays and Saturdays, dancing, giveaways. The Corona Cantina will once again feature a variety of tribute bands and other groups. Nightly performances at 7pm, 9pm and 10:30pm include Journey Unauthorized, a tribute to Journey on 8/18; Skynnyn Lynnyrd, a tribute to Lynyrd Skynrd on 8/19; Metalachi, where metal meets mariachi on 8/20; country acts Doo Wah Riders and encore performance by comedy team, Williams & Ree (at 9:30pm) on 8/21; Jett Benatar, a tribute to Joan Jett and Pat Benatar on 8/22; country performer Jackson Michaelson on 8/23; Dave Matthews Band tribute on 8/24; Hot for Teacher, a tribute to Van Halen on 8/25; ABBAFAB-ABBA a tribute to ABBA on 8/26; and Kool Fire-Tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire, 8/27. 4

The new KTPI Corral sponsored by A.V. Ford and I.B.E.W./NECA will feature DJs, nightly line dancing lessons at 8pm, and country music performed by live bands. The Vallarta Supermarkets Variety Stage will feature local bands. BUILDINGS A.V. Harley Davidson Legacy Hall: Floriculture, 4-H Exhibits and Better Outdoor Living A.V. Rural Museum sponsored by Valyermo Ranch: Farm & Garden exhibits, Bees and Scarecrows. One of the notable new exhibits in the Antelope Valley Rural Museum (AVRM) salutes Antelope Valley First Responders. The museum will also feature 2 restored antique tractors which were donated this year by Rob Parris and Ralph Bozigian. Twelve new display cabinets were built Bill Rawlings this year and feature a variety of Antelope Valley related exhibits. A daily 50/50 drawing will be held with all proceeds going to the AVRM New Building Fund. A.V. Veterinary Center: Beef, Sheep & Goat Barn H.W. Hunter Pavilion sponsored by Select Comfort will feature market place shopping. L.A. County Farm Bureau Community Hall: Small Animal Barn (poultry, rabbits, etc.) R. Rex Parris Show Arena: Livestock competitions and the Kiwanis Jr Livestock Auction on August 24 th at 9am, where youngsters from around the Valley and nearby areas raise market animals to be judged and sold. Swine Barn Van Dam Pavilion will feature Home Arts, Photo Arts, demonstrations and competitive exhibits (baking, table setting, etc.). Van Dam Hands-on activities include Making Bracelets (8/19: 4pm-6pm, 8/21: 2pm-6pm & 8/26: 4pm-6pm), and Cupcake Decorating (8/21: 2pm-4pm). Free acts at the fair include Tadpole the Clown, magician Louie Foxx, Magic of Katia & Rafael, Prehistoric Adventures, and Skip Banks the Balloon Man. Outdoor exhibits include the Rusty Relics and Ag mechanics. 5

Other (paid) activities to see and do include viewing the giant horse and steer, smallest horse, pony rides, rock climbing wall and photo booths. Bars open to the public include: Corona Cantina, Craft Beer Garden: Bravery Brewing, Kinetic Brewing Company, Lucky Lukes Brewing and Transplants Brewing Company, La Plaza Bar sponsored by Budweiser, Remax All Pro Corral Saloon, Stampede Saloon sponsored by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Troth, Realtors and the Tiki Lounge sponsored by Budweiser. PALMDALE AUTO MALL CONCERT SERIES The 2017 Palmdale Auto Mall Concert Series has something for everyone. Tickets are on sale now for CAMEO & special guests, THE S.O.S BAND on August 18th, THE DOOBIE BROTHERS on August 19th, LA ARROLLADORA BANDA EL LIMON and BANDA MACHOS, co-sponsored by Vallarta Supermarkets, on August 20th, COLE SWINDELL & the comedy team of WILLIAMS & REE on August 21, Standing Room Only tickets for GABRIEL IGLESIAS FLUFFYMANIA: Twenty Years of Comedy Tour on August 22, and JON PARDI & ELI YOUNG BAND on August 23rd. All concerts will start at 7:30p.m. with the exception of the La Arrolladora Banda El Limon/Banda Machos concert on August 20th, that will start at 7:00p.m. Grandstand seating is free on a first-come, first-served basis with the purchase of general fair admission for all the concerts except the Aug. 20, concert. Except for the Aug. 20 concert, tickets are $80 for the Gold Circle; $55 for Front Track seating; $30 for Back Track seating; and $20 for standing room only on the arena floor. Admission to the Sunday, Aug. 20, concert is $50 for Gold Circle seating, and during Fair, $35 for adults and $8 for youth (ages 6 to 11), for first-come, first-seated track and grandstand seating. All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m., except the Aug. 20, concert, which begins at 7 p.m. Once the concerts are completed, the Rally KIA Arena Events series starts with Figure 8 Race sponsored by Cullen Insurance, at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 24; Traxxas Monster Trucks Destruction Tour at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 25; Rural Olympics and Fireworks sponsored by Learn4Life at 6 p.m., Aug. 26; and Demolition Derby, also sponsored by Cullen Insurance at 6 p.m., Aug. 27. There are no free Grandstand seats for the Monster Trucks show or Demolition Derby, a ticket is required. Ticket prices are $15, $20, $25 or $30. 6

All concert and arena event tickets include Fair Admission. The Miller Lite Grandstand Arena opens one hour prior to show time for all events (5:30p.m. for the Gabriel Iglesias Fluffymania show at 7:30pm on August 22 nd ). Children occupying trackside seats for all concerts must have a ticket. A 10% service fee will be added to each Fair ticket purchased.
