Do you know of a family in need of a holiday? The Salvation Army is a Christian Church and Registered Charity that has long been associated with compassionate work amongst families and the community, as a direct response to our commitment to God, and out of a desire to reflect His love for all people. We are very conscious of the desperate need of so many in our society who struggle daily simply to survive and provide for those who rely upon them. With this in mind, The Salvation Army have put together a holiday package designed to help those most in need of a break from their normal environment. This brochure sets out the package, and outlines the process which referring agencies need to follow when recommending clients/families.
What we offer! We currently have three six/eight berth caravans at Haggerston Castle Holiday Park, which is approximately seven miles south of Berwick Upon Tweed. The holiday park is managed by British Holidays a copy of the company s brochure, showing the facilities is available on request. Quoting the Park Manager. Towering above them all, Haggerston Castle combines a beautiful setting with top quality entertainment and facilities that are sure to please everyone. Award winning parklands surround lovely lakes, providing a natural haven for wildlife. There s a marvellous family atmosphere with so much to do, ensuring there is never a dull moment all the family will love it. As well as an entertainment complex, swimming pool, tennis courts, pleasure lake, etc, the park also has it s own supermarket, restaurants and take-aways. Users have access to most of these activities via entertainment passes, which we provide. Each caravan is available on a weekly basis (Saturday to Saturday) from March to October.
The Accommodation Each caravan is fully furnished and has a spacious lounge/dining area with fire and television. There is one double bedroom and two twin rooms, each with drawer and wardrobe space. Each caravan has a shower room with a hand basin and separate toilet, a fully fitted kitchen with all the necessary kitchen utensils, e.g. gas hob, oven, fridge, toaster, microwave, etc. The caravans are all within easy walking distance of the main entertainment complex. Clients are advised not to arrive before 3.30 p.m. on day of arrival and must depart the caravan by 10.00 a.m. on day of departure. Please note that the caravans are not accessible for wheelchair users! We operate a strict no-smoking policy and would ask that clients do not smoke in our caravans. Pets are not allowed in the caravans. CHILDREN SHOULD BE SUPERVISED BY AN APPROPRIATE ADULT AT ALL TIMES WHILST ON THE CARAVAN PARK Cancellation of Holidays Should your client need to cancel the holiday after it has been booked, we would require 14 days notice in writing.
What do prospective clients need to remember? On arrival at the site they should go to Guest Services, where staff will wish to see the letter of introduction and the complimentary holiday passes form that are supplied by us. They will be given the caravan keys and entertainment passes. Laundry packs are provided in each caravan and this will contain all they need in terms of bedding. They will need to take with them the following items: Hand and bath towels T-Towels Food The caravan will be clean and tidy and we would simply ask that they ensure that it is in a similar condition when they leave. Entertainment Passes Entertainment passes are provided to allow entry to the entertainment and leisure complex. Passes will only be issued to those named on the form provided by us. Travelling Costs Travelling costs remain the responsibility of your clients. Problems If your clients have any problems whilst on site, please do not hesitate to contact Reception or Guest Services who will make every effort to assist them.
Guidelines We have the following guidelines and we would ask that you make your clients aware of these. Please respect the neighbours in surrounding caravans. Our caravans are non-smoking and we would ask that you do not smoke in them. Pets are not allowed in the caravans. Upon departure please leave the caravan in a clean and tidy condition. Any damages to the caravan will be charged to your clients. How do I make an application on behalf of a family? A copy of the application form should be submitted to the Divisional Director for Community Services at the address below with a covering letter giving as much detail and information as possible.
