Thoughts for the Month from Tom: November's Monthly Meeting at Saz's but New Location/Night Expected for December Xmas Party While we will hold our next Monthly Membership Meeting on the evening of Thursday, November 10th, we expect to move the night back to Friday starting on December 2nd. Saz's has limited space for our growing club and moving this activity to a weekend night will allow attendees to stay longer if they so wish. While several locations have been suggested, due to cost and central location to where our membership lives, the top two candidates are Steak House 100 (72nd & Greenfield) and Knights of Columbus (south of Greenfield Avenue on 92nd Street). We expect to make a timely decision in a short order. Membership Continues to Grow Currently have 230 members which is just short of the membership count at the end of last year (238). With your help, we will continue to grow this by retaining our current members, through bringing in new skiers while recruiting from all age brackets. Congratulations/Appreciation We continue to have strong attendance in October for our club-sponsored events including the annual Fire Pit Party (Nick Conger, Susie Mann & Cheryl Marx), the October APV Birthday Meet-Me-At (Sue Richardson), the Outdoor Movie Night (Jim & Megan Reilly)and China Lights at Boener Gardens (Jim & Megan Reilly) and the manning of a booth while attending the Warren Miller Movie at the Pabst (Mark Harris, Dawn Petermann Harris & Dave Wherry). We appreciate the ongoing activity of the weekly Packer Parties (Tom & Jean Bronson, Tom Augustine & Janice Wachs) held throughout the pro football season at the Aris Sports Bar. We filled 5 tables for the Sunday late-afternoon game against the Atlanta and we already have had three winners for the bar's raffle this season that includes a meat platter for five. We look forward to some other upcoming events such as the Shakers Cigar Bar on November 5th (Mike Mueller & Tom Bronson), Teton Gravity Research Premiere of Tight Loose at Waukesha Elk Lodge 400 on November 11th (Mark Harris), and a Birthday Meet-Me-At at West Allis' Steak House 100 on November 17th (Jim Reilly).

As Past President, one of my duties is to assist the Board of Directors by providing direction for the operation of the Club. One of the ways to do this is through the Steering Committee. We are looking for longtime members, new active club members, past board officers/directors and current board officers/directors to be part of the committee. Steering Committee One topic that has come up consistently over the years is the definition of a couple membership and whether it should be expanded to include non married and/or same sex relationships. We are also looking for other topics that the Steering Committee could discuss. Please email or call me of your interest to participate or suggest a topic. Some topics may only need us to meet once or twice to discuss. Dawn Petermann, Past-President and head of the Steering Committee Pastpresident@sitzmark.org
