ERASMUS+ Project Norway 2015 By : Stefan Scerri
Norway here we come! (day 1) We left Gozo with the 9:45 ferry to Malta. Found a minibus in Malta waiting for us to take us to the Malta International Airport. Boarded the plane at 1:15pm to Frankfurt Airport. Arrived in Frankfurt at 3:15pm. Boarded the plane to Norway. We arrived in Norway at 4:30pm. Entered the train station for Oslo. Boarded the train for a 45-minute journey till we arrived at our destination the village of Lunde`! It was a very long voyage we reached Lunde at around 1am!
Start Of Cushion Project (day 2) Woke up, had our breakfast. Left to school by bus at 8:00 a.m with Lars, the son of our host family Family Grini. Introduced ourselves to the other students. Got split as groups accordingly. Got introduced to business. Started our cushion project. Went for a short break. Entered in the spacious classroom to design our cushion. In the afternoon we got the bus to our host family. In the evening we had dinner at school and talked about our respective countries. We prepared a special presentation on Gozo for this special evening. Went back home and got to bed.
Ice Skating ;-) (day 3) Left from home to school by school bus. We then took another organised bus from school and started a 45-minute journey. Arrived at the skating arena. We put on the skiis and they gave us a small statue of a penguin to guide us since we were beginners. After 1 hour skating we left to the forest and started a bonfire on which we cooked some dough, some tasty sausages and in the end took a much appreciated hot chocolate. After 1 hour we left for the bus which took us back to our host family. At home with the host family, we baked some ginger bread cookies and played some indoor games. Got to bed.
Cushion project Part 2 (day 4) Woke up and had breakfast. Got the organized bus for school. Completed our cushion my cushion represents both Norway and Gozo since I included the three hills, the sea and the sun, as well as the name of Norway. On completing the cushion we left for lunch. We then helped Mr. Camilleri with his lesson about Malta. In the evening we had our international dinner at school. We could taste different foods of different countries. Went home and slept for the last night in Lunde`.
Sightseeing In Lunde` (day 5) Left from home by bus to school. Presented our pillows to the other students. Boarded the bus and left for the agricultural school which is found in another close-by town. Students, showed us around their school. (stables, pigs and hens.) left for the dam water turns turbines and these produce electricity. Walked along the bridge. Went back home to our host families. At 6:00 we left to our teacher`s hostel and we showed to other students some traditional games. We even ate some pizza. Left back to home and slept.
Oslo Here We Come! (day 6) Left to school and boarded the bus to Oslo, the capital of Norway. Took us 3 hours to arrive in the city centre We went for an interesting sightseeing walk around the city. We took photos with the Norwegian students who accompanied us. After leaving our luggage in the hotel (Hotel Millennium), we had some time for shopping. At 6:30 we gathered at the modern opera house to say goodbye to each other. We then went back to the hotel and got to bed for our last night in Norway.
Gozo Here We Come! (day 7) Left from Oslo At 4:00 in the morning to the train station. Boarded the train at 4:30am Arrived at Oslo Airport at 5:00am Our Lufthansa plane left to Frankfurt Airport at 6:00am After disembarking at Frankfurt, we boarded another plane to Malta at 10:00am We arrived in Malta at 12.30pm. Found my parents and sisters waiting for me at the airport it was a pleasant surprise! Left to Gozo.
