That s why I love this quote: I choose to travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape me! Your experience will include white table cloths, elegant napkin rings, Victorian artwork, and a staff that will make you feel that they are glad you re there. For lunch it s your choice of soup or salad, one of three entrees, and a luscious dessert in this special 1845 Greek Revival mansion. After lunch we ll shop in one of the area s most charming small towns, Midway. It s Railroad Street is lined with lots of great little shops sure to entice us to just browse or make a special purchase (or two or three)! Not to discourage you gentlemen, because you are more than welcome, but I would classify this as a ladies day out. For those in the Frankfort/Versailles area, we will have an additional pickup at our 100 United Drive location in Versailles. Please park on side facing Long John Silvers. Although day trips are sometimes cost-prohibitive, we hope you feel like you deserve a treat and come with us! Meet your traveling companions for a welcome dinner. Day Two Athens sightseeing with a local guide includes a visit to the world-famous Acropolis, perched high on a rocky outcrop overlooking the city. See the Parthenon, the Erechtheum with its Porch of Maidens, the Temple of Athena Nike, and enjoy a panoramic view that includes glimpses of the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Theater of Dionysus, and the beautifully-preserved Theseum, where Socrates taught. City orientation tour features the Old Parliament House and a picture stop at the Panathenaic Stadium. Built in the 2nd Century AD, it s the only stadium in the world made entirely of marble, and it was host to the opening and closing ceremonies of the irst modern Olympics in 1896. Breakfast included today. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Tonight is your chance to join an optional dinner outing to try local fare. Day Three Cross the spectacular Corinth Canal, then visit ancient Corinth where St. Paul preached. Visit Mycenae, where 19th century excavations reveal impressions of the splendors so vividly described by Homer. Admire the Beehive Tombs, the Treasury of Atreus, Lions Gate, Europe s oldest-known monument, remnants of Agamemnon s Royal Palace, and the impressive forti ications of the Citadel.

Page 4 Also visit the museum. Take a short drive to Epidaurus for a tour of its well-preserved 2,300 year old open air theater. Overnight in Nauplia. Breakfast and dinner included today. Day Four Spectacular scenery on the way through the Arkadian Mountains. Spend the afternoon in Olympia, where athletes of antiquity competed in honor of the king of deities. Learn about the history of those original Olympic games as you walk among the impressive remains of the Gymnasium and the Temples of Hera and Zeus. Visit the museum that displays Praxitele s magni icent statue of Hermes. Enjoy a cooking demonstration and learn how to make the traditional Greek tzatziki appetizer. Breakfast and dinner included today. dinner at a local restaurant. Breakfast is included today. Day Eight Visit Lavrion/Piraaeus, where you will sail into the deep blue waters of the Aegean Sea. Dock later on the mountainous island of Mykonos with its characteristic windmills and dazzling white houses. Time to wander through the narrow streets before returning to the boat. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included. Day Nine Visit Kusadasi on the Turkish coast. See the fascinating Greek, Roman, and Byzantine excavations of Ephesus. Discover the Greek island Patmos, where John the Divine wrote the Revelation, and see the Grotto of Apocalypse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Day Five Via the busy seaport of Patras, proceed through the picturesque ishing villages along the south coast of the mainland to mystic Delphi. The afternoon is devoted to a fascinating tour of the ancient sanctuary of the god Apollo in its dramatic setting on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. Hear about the Oracle and tour the excavations. End the day with a visit to the archeological museum to admire the Charioteer, an extraordinary 5th century BC bronze statue. Enjoy a dance lesson this evening. Breakfast and dinner included today. Day Six Drive past Lamia and Trikala to Kalambaka in the fantastic landscape of Meteora with its 24 rocktop monasteries. Visit Varlaam Monastery, famous for its frescoes, and St. Stephens Monastery, featuring a unique collection of icons and an incredible panoramic view. Ladies should pack one long skirt, as shorts or pants may be inappropriate for the monastery visits. Breakfast and dinner included today. Day Seven Guided visit to Thermopylae, site of the heroic battle of Leonidas 300 doomed Spartans against Xerxes huge Persian army. On the way back to Athens, learn about Thebes, the setting of Sophocles Oedipus Rex, and Marathon, where 10,000 Athenians defeated more than twice that number of Persian invaders in 490 BC. Tonight enjoy an optional Day Ten Visit Heraklion on Crete. A few miles away is Knossos, the center of the 3000 BC Minoan civilization. Afternoon call, weather permitting, at Santorini, the black pearl of the Aegean. Join one of the local optional shore excursions either to the volcano or up to the cliff-top village of Oia for one of the world s most breathtaking panoramas. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Day Eleven After breakfast on board, disembark at Lavrion/Piraeus and return to Athens. The rest of the day is free. Day Twelve Depart for home after breakfast. The most exciting part? The price! BRAZIL, ARGENTINA, CHILE September 23 October 4, 2018 We just had the preview parties for this trip 25 signed up the irst day! I chose this trip for sel ish reasons I ve always wanted to see this part of the World, especially the Iguassa Falls, one of the greatest natural wonders of the World. With over 275 waterfalls combining to make one gigantic spectacle, this will simply take your breath away. Day One Arrive in Rio with free time to explore the beautiful sand beaches and host of the 2016 Summer Olympics. Day Two Sightseeing tour, Cog Railway with 2,300 feet to the summit at Corcovado to view infamous Christ the Redeemer statue. Day Three Free day in Rio or choose optional excursion to Petropolis. Day Four A morning light takes us to Iguassa Falls. Journey to the Brazilian side of the Falls to see the mammoth series of falls cascading over a precipice almost two miles wide and 250 feet deep. Day Five Cross the border to Argentina to see the other side of the Falls. Take an open-air ecological jungle train through the rain forest and a series of Day Seven Morning sightseeing focuses on the city s landmarks, including the Colon Opera House and Plaza de Mayo, site of La Casa Rosada (the President s Pink House) and Metropolitan Cathedra. Visit La Boca and San Telmo, one of Buenos Aires oldest neighborhoods and Recoleta Cemetery, where Eva Peron is buried. End the day with a famous tango show.
