APRIL 2017 ISSUE 4-17 KBTC VIEWER GUIDE DEATH IN PARADISE SEASON 6 A brand-new season of island intrigue all this month, Fridays at 10 p.m. See page 8.

GENERAL MANAGER S NOTE Dear Friends, DeANNE HAMILTON Executive Director/ General Manager Happy spring! I just love this time of year in the Pacific Northwest. Bulbs that were planted in the fall begin blooming, and we can count on the colors of spring to lift our spirits and remind us to look forward to warmer, sunnier days that are to come. It s time to get moving again, step outside, find the next adventure. We can t let the rain hold us back when we live in Washington, can we? KBTC wants to offer you opportunities to explore your world beyond providing you television and online viewing, and this year we ve got lots of ways for you to engage and interact with people who share your interests. From our Heritage Month documentary screenings, to meet & greets with your favorite PBS personalities, to PBS Play Dates for kids, we ve got a little something for everyone. In addition to public events, we ve got programs that are targeted for special audiences. One that we ve designed specifically for our youngest viewers is the KBTC Spring Break Camp. Now in its seventh year, this nationally recognized five-day camp provides local children in underserved neighborhoods the opportunity to practice their math and literacy skills through fun, hands-on activities like computer gaming, science experiments, and working on special projects. The kids thrive in a safe and supported atmosphere as we provide award-winning PBS Ready to Learn curriculum from shows like Super Why!, Odd Squad, Fetch! and more. We couldn t do any of this without our partners and that includes you! Your annual and monthly donations allow us to bring you the very best PBS has to offer, and it also allows us to respond to the needs of our community. Thank you for being our partner! If you d like information about any of the events or programs we offer, please visit kbtc.org.
