An effective Liquid/Vapor Barrier is the most important component of burn injury prevention because the majority of Foodservice Industry burns are caused by hot liquids, grease and/or steam. Insulation is the second most important component of burn injury prevention for the Foodservice Industry because burns caused by contact with hot surfaces are the second leading cause of injury. Sizing & Washing Mitt and Glove Sizing Washing 1. Exterior Cleaning Hand wash the mitt with soap and warm water or machine wash. You may use a soft scrub brush to remove soil. Return to work with mitt wet or machine dry. 2. Interior Cleaning (sewn in liner) Turn the mitt inside out and hand wash with soap and warm water or machine wash. Air or machine dry. 3. Interior Cleaning (removable liners) Remove liner and hand wash with soap and warm water or machine wash. Air or machine dry. All Guard mitts and gloves are available in 12, 15, 18 and 24 inch lengths. Tucker ty Products is the only company in the industry to size their oven mitts and gloves in small, medium and large sizes. Our standard size is medium. Use a warm, soapy cloth and wipe the outside of the mitt. Do not soak or submerse in or under water. Interior: 2. Wipe inside of the mitt using warm, soapy water, rinse with sanitizing agent. Do not soak or submerse in or under water. 1 3. If the inside of the mitt is really dirty the inside can be pulled out.* This can be done by putting your hand in the mitt & holding onto the inside liner as you pull your hand out. 4. Once the inside is pulled out then wipe clean. Push the liner back in. 2 5. Continue pushing finger portion of the liner back into the mitt. 6. With a rinse cloth, wipe off any excessive soap from the interior and exterior of the mitt. * Liner cannot be pulled out of 5-Finger or 3-Finger QuicKlean TM gloves. Gloves will need to be inverted to clean inside. 3 Tips: Mitts should be wiped out at the end of each day and left to hang dry over night. Make sure all soap is wiped off the mitt.
