Typing Instructions All abstracts are to be submitted electronically. There is no editing or proof reading process. The following instructions have been designed to assist you in preparing your abstract to ensure that the reproduction in the conference proceedings is of high quality. There will not be an official abstract form. Type within a rectangle 12.5cm wide and 16cm high. The font used should be Arial 10 point. Use single line spacing. The title should be in capitals at the top of the abstract. Underline author s names. The name of the presenting author should be indicated by an asterisk (*). The authors names should be followed by their institution. The abbreviations ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC and NZ are acceptable. A single blank line should separate the header block and the main text. Standard abbreviations may be used. Special or unusual abbreviations must be placed in parentheses after the first use of the full word. If references are cited they should be listed at the foot of the abstract. They should be separated from the main body by a single blank line. Do not indent. 2. Instructions of Content for Scientific Abstracts The abstract should contain: The study s objective; A statement of methods used; A summary of results; Conclusions. SOMANZ / ADIPS 2008 information Federal Goods & Services Tax (GST) Australia has a Federal Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 10%. Overseas delegates are not exempt from paying this tax. All fees and costs quoted in the brochure are GST inclusive. The SOMANZ is registered for GST - the ABN is 30 254 264 937. Upon payment of the registration fee, the registration form becomes a tax invoice. Liability In case of industrial disruption or other external events causing disruption to the meeting, the Organising Committee of the ASM accepts no responsibility for loss of monies incurred by delegates. Privacy Personal information, as defined under the national privacy legislation, The Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2001, will be treated in accordance with the National Privacy Principles and only shared with related or third parties in accordance with those principles.
