DAY 1 ARRIVAL & WELCOME You will be met upon arrival at Casablanca Mohamed V Airport by an Acacia Holidays representative who will transfer you and your luggage to Hyatt Regency Casablanca. OVERNIGHT HYATT REGENCY CASABLANCA DAY 2 CASABLANCA-RABAT-FES Buffet breakfast at hotel 08h30: Departure to Visit the Hassan II Mosque, its glass floor suspended directly over the sea, is home to the tallest minaret in the world. Continue to Rabat and the Mohammed V Mausoleum, Hassan Tower and Oudaya Kasbah. Lunch at a local restaurant Travel to Fez for a special cocktail reception, followed by dinner at the elegant Riad Alkantara, where an expert guest speaker provides insight into Andalusian architecture and history. Explore Fez el-bali (Old Fez), strolling through the lanes and souks of the labyrinthine old quarter. Lunch at a traditional restaurant in the heart of Medina Afternoon, continuation of the Visit of Karaouine, the Hispano-Moorish Attarine Medersa (Koranic college) and the Nejjarine Square. You also view the Royal Palace, madrasas and mellah (Jewish quarter) in Fez el-jadid. Dinner under your own account OVERNIGHT AT SOFITEL FEZ PALAIS JAMAI- MEALS:B,L DAY 4 FEZ-VOLUBILIS-MEKNEZ-FEZ After breakfast, Journey overland to the imperial city of Meknes to see the Bab Mansour gateway as well as the granaries, royal stables and shrine of Moulay Ismail, among the few shrines in Morocco non-muslims can visit. OVERNIGHT AT SOFITEL FEZ PALAIS JAMAI- MEALS:-B,L DAY 5 FEZ-ERFOUD After breakfast Travel to small, desert-fringed Erfoud, marveling at everyday life as you pass Berber villages and the majestic Atlas Mountains Packed lunch will be provided and dinner at the hotel. OVERNIGHT AT KASBAH HOTEL CHERGUI- MEALS:B,L,D DAY 6 ERFOUD-MERZOUGA After breakfast departure to See the fortified desert town of Rissani. Explore the quarry, site of fossilized fish. Set off for the desert dunes of Erg Chebbi and your tented camp by four-wheel-drive vehicle, where a reception with mint tea and pastries and lunch awaits. Erg Chebbi s stunning dunes can reach up to 500 feet high, creating an otherworldly landscape best experienced by camel back. DAY 7 MERZOUGA-ERFOUD-OUARZAZATE After breakfast drive to Ouarzazate, once a stop for African traders en route to other Moroccan cities and on to Europe. Visit a comprehensive private museum showcasing the local culture and history. Lunch at a local restaurant Continue on the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, and view the grand 17th-century Amerhidil Kasbah, so beautiful its likeness is printed on the 50 dirham bank note Dinner at the Palace. OVERNIGHT AT LE BERBERE PALACE- MEALS:B,L,D DAY 8 OUARZAZATE-MARRAKECH After breakfast Visit the Taourirt Kasbah from which the Glaoui family controlled major trading routes and the city of Ait Benhaddou, site of the region s most exotic kasbahs. (Some of these structures have been featured in films, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator.) DAY 9 MARRAKECH After breakfast drive to Marrakech, Unearth the secrets of Marrakech, beginning in the medina, the old walled section of town. Marvel at the soaring Koutoubia minaret, and visit the Bahia Palace, an exemplary specimen of privileged life in the 19th century. Lunch at a traditional restaurant in the heart of medina In the afternoon Explore Djemaa el-fna, Marrakech s main square that is filled with vendors, musicians and snake charmers. Dinner under your own account. OVERNIGHT AT SOFITEL LOUNGE & SPA - MEALS:B,L DAY 10 OUARZAZATE-MARRAKECH After breakfast absorb the beauty of the 12th-century Menara Gardens. Continue by horse-drawn carriage to Jardin Majorelle, a picturesque garden created by French painter Jacques Majorelle. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Lunch under your own account Al Karam: furnishes housing in emergency situations and offers a center that is a safe haven of daily activities for street children abandoned or left out in the streets to earn money through begging and/or prostitution. Tonight, attend a special farewell dinner with entertainment by a local gnaoua band.
