2014 SPAIN PERFORMANCE TOUR (subject to change) As of: October 4, 2012 DAY ONE: SAN FRANCISCO DEPARTURE (meals/movies en route) Morning: Arrive at San Francisco International Airport approx. 3 hours prior to departure and meet your World Projects representative who will assist you with check in. Check in luggage to Barcelona and move to departure gate. Now may be a good time for some duty free shopping! Depart for Barcelona, Spain Note: there will be a stop en route. Note: due to group size, several flights and/or airlines may be necessary Overnight en route. DAY TWO: BARCELONA PEÑISCOLA (D) Morning: Arrive into Barcelona! Pass through immigration and collect your luggage and proceed with customs formalities. You will be met by your local Tour Escorts who will travel with you throughout the tour. ~10:30am Load the coaches and equipment van and depart for Peñiscola (~2 hour drive). ~12:30pm Arrive into Peñiscola and check into your hotel. Peñiscola is located on the Costa del Azahar along the Mediterranean Sea. A popular seaside resort for Spaniards, Germans and French tourists, Peñiscola features the Castillo de Peñiscola last home of Pope Benedict XIII (known as Papa Luna) in the 15 th century. The afternoon is free to rest and recover from the long trip and to enjoy the beach, shops and restaurants of Peñiscola. Enjoy a Welcome Dinner as a group in Peñiscola and this evening is free. DAY THREE: PEÑISCOLA (B,D) Performance This morning, enjoy time to explore Peñiscola Castle. The rest of the morning is free to enjoy beach time in Peñiscola. Afternoon: Lunch and free time on own. Return to the hotel to get ready for this evening. Transfer to tonight s concert location (likely the Castillo de Peñiscola). Group rehearsal at tonight s concert venue. Dinner as a group. PERFORMANCE in Peñiscola (possibly as part of the summer music series at the Castillo de Peñiscola OR a joint concert with local group).
DAY FOUR: PEÑISCOLA VALENCIA (B,D) The morning is free to enjoy beach time in Peñiscola. Afternoon: Lunch on own in Peñiscola. Check-out of the hotel and load the coaches and equipment van depart for Valencia (~2 hour drive). Arrive into Valencia. Valencia is Spain s third largest city and one of its most important port cities along the Mediterranean Sea. Valencia has hosted the America s Cup Sailing race twice and is a fascinating mix of old Spanish traditions and modern architecture. Enjoy a guided tour of Valencia (coach and walking) walk the historic city center with its Old Quarter and Cathedral and see the modern city such as the City of Arts and Sciences, Palacio de Congressos and the stunning Palau de la Musica. Enjoy dinner as a group in Valencia (likely a nice paella dinner) and this evening is free. DAY FIVE: VALENCIA (B,D) Performance This morning, enjoy a visit to the City of Arts and Sciences. The City of Arts and Sciences is Valencia s most visited tourist site. The complex is made up of an aquarium, IMAX theater, planetarium, open-air oceanographic park, performing arts center and more! Afternoon: Lunch on your own at or nearby the City of Arts and Sciences. Enjoy time to explore Valencia possibilities could include exploring the Old Quarter or relaxing at the beach (all costs on own). Return to the hotel to get ready for this evening. Dinner as a group near tonight s concert venue. PERFORMANCE in Valencia likely a shared performance at the La Rambleta Center or an outdoor performance in a local park such as Parque de Cabecera. DAY SIX: VALENCIA BARCELONA (B,D) This morning, check-out of the hotel and load the coaches and baggage van. Depart for Barcelona (~4 hour drive). Afternoon: Lunch own on own en route. Arrive into Barcelona. Barcelona is the capital of Catalunya and the second largest city in Spain. After hosting the Olympic Games in 1992, it has finally taken its place on the list of the world s greatest cities. Home of the famous architect Gaudi, it is a most attractive, stimulating city, especially from an architectural point of view. Late afternoon: Enjoy a guided walking tour of the Ramblas and the old Gothic Quarter. Check into hotel. Dinner as a group (likely at a Tapas restaurant) then return to the hotel.
DAY SEVEN: BARCELONA (B,D) Performance This morning, enjoy a panoramic guided tour of Barcelona highlights to include Montjuic (home of the 1992 Olympic Stadium and wonderful views of Barcelona), and Gaudi s amazing Parc Guell. Afternoon: Lunch on own. This afternoon, enjoy some time to explore Barcelona on own. Dinner as a group. Transfer to location TBD and set-up. This evening, PERFORMANCE as part of the Música als Parcs (Music in the Parks) program or a shared performance at a public venue such as Parc Guell or Poble Espanyol. DAY EIGHT: BARCELONA (B,D) This morning, enjoy a guided tour of Gaudi s crowning achievement the Cathedral of la Sagrada Familia. Afternoon: Lunch on own. The afternoon is free to enjoy Barcelona on own explore the Gothic Quarter, shopping along the Rambla or in the fashionable l Eixample district, enjoy Barceloneta Beach, etc. (all costs on own). Enjoy a Farewell Dinner as a group near the concert venue. DAY NINE: BARCELONA SAN FRANCISCO (B, meals on plane) Morning: Breakfast as a group at the hotel. Check out of the hotel and transfer to Barcelona Airport. Arrive at Barcelona International Airport and check in for your flights to San Francisco. Depart Barcelona.
