You will visit the city of Barranco where is a district of Lima full tradition and history, with fine streets and small colonial squares, where one can still sense the Antique spirit of Lima Later on we will head towards the heart of the city to visit its colonial site See various attractions of the city following the Paseo de la Republica, San Martin Square and the Plaza Mayor (Main Square) with their different buildings: Government Palace, Archbishop s Palace, the Basilica Cathedral and the Municipal Palace Continue our tour at the Convent of San Francisco, which was built in colonial times Free time in the late evening or return to your room preferences Accommodation in Lima Transportation to the cities One visit at the convent of San Francisco Visit at Archbishop s Palace (optional) Archbishop s Palace Entrance at the Water Magic Circuit Don t show money bucks
DAY 3 AREQUIPA CITY TOUR Morning visit to the City s major attractions. Visit Santa Catalina s Monastery Midday you will head for the Arequipa s main square, Cathedral, and the most picturesque neighborhoods such as Cayma and Yanahuara. DAY 5 CHIVAY > COLCA CAYNON > AREQUIPA Leave the hostel and head to the Condor s Cross after a 6:00am breakfast From this point you will have an amazing view over the Colca Canyon Opportunity to take a nice walk from Condor s Cross (approximately 1.5 hours) Visit the Colca towns of Yanque with its beautiful church, Maca with its interesting geological problem The lookout points in Huayrapunko and Quehuisha where ice melts are destined for the Amazons Relax or take a walk around the city of Arequipa at night Entrance to Colca Caynon Accommodation in Arequipa Take a walk from Condor s Cross Please wear comfortable hiking shoes Bring a bottle of water Sun cream and hat No internet/wifi DAY 6 AREQUIPA > PUNO In the morning, free time and visit some sites After lunch in Arequipa, depart for Puno by bus (about 6hrs) Arrive in Puno and transfer to hostel/hotel Rest all the night Bus from Arequipa to Puno Accommodation in Puno Take a walk in the city of Puno Continue drinking coca leaf tea
DAY 7 JULIACA, PUNO > SILLUSTANI Pick up from your hotel in Puno at 2pm Travel by bus through the Altiplano, "the High Plains". On the way, we observe the typical flora and rural scenes of this area Upon arrival at the Sillustani Peninsula Observing the huge funerary towers known as Chullpas. Lake Titicaca, at 3820 meters, is the highest navigable lake in the world. Sightseeing on the islands of Uros and Taquile are following by lunch at a local restaurant in Taquile. Visit the island and the descendents of the Aymara and Quechua ethnicity. This beautiful island setting holds several terraced hillsides of Inca ruins, which you are free to explore. After lunch, continue on to the massive fortress of Ollantaytambo. This was the valley s main defense against the Antis and was the site of the Incas greatest victory against the Spanish during the wars of conquest. You will be transferred to the train station for a 2-hour rail ride to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will spend the night.
