INTRODUCTION The Shasta Lakeshore Retreat is located on the shoreline of Lake Shasta in Northern California. It is one of the most popular vacation rentals in the area and is available throughout the year for our guests. If you like to relax, enjoy spectacular views of the lake, the surrounding mountains...and walk to the marina, then this is the place for you. Our home features 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a bright kitchen/main family room with big windows complemented by high wood beam ceilings and a separate great media/kids room on the lower floor. Whether you are enjoying your coffee in the morning, barbequing a steak while enjoying a glass of wine or relaxing in the hot tub, our two decks offer some of the best views in the area. The home is shaded by mature trees, surrounded by wildlife and offer lots of privacy overlooking Lake Shasta. Our Lake House has one of the shortest and easiest walks down to the marina and boat docks. The marina is within sight of our decks even when the water is very low and offer $25 per night slips in the summer. Although this is all about getting away, a short drive will take you to ATV trails, a grocery store, small town night spots, restaurants, bait shops, fuel, and even a beauty salon. 1 P a g e
We are one of the few neighborhoods of homes that are in the Sugarloaf area and this house is the only one available for rent that we know of currently right on the lake. Unlike some arms of the lake which go completely dry...there is always some lake out in front of you to see from our decks even in the fall of 2015 after four years of drought. As of May 2016 the lake is almost full! PARKING Plenty of safe room for your vehicles, RVs and Boats. Multiple cars will fit in the driveway. Large vehicles with trailers can park in front of house off the road. Turn around for trucks with boats at end of street. LAKE HOUSE IS FULLY FURNISHED Linens & Pillows They will be clean and on the beds when you arrive. Extras are located in the large closet downstairs between the two bedrooms. Towels Towels for bathing should be in the bathrooms hanging up and under the sink. Please bring your own towels for boating or swimming. Utensils You will find all needed utensils at the house for up to 10 people. This includes but is not limited to plates, bowls, cups, glasses, coffee cups, wine glasses, silverware, cooking pots, tea pot, etc. Paper Goods Paper towels, napkins and toilet paper are provided. Games & Books You are welcome to use the board and card games in the house We have a number of books also available Outdoor Shower There is an outdoor shower available in the summer on the lower deck that you can use. Both work on the new DirecTV Genie system where there is one DVR that can be accessed by both TVs in the house. They record up to 5 shows at once. You can record and we currently have a number of great movies and TV Series recorded for your enjoyment. BOAT LAUNCH CLOSE There is a county boat launch (Sugarloaf) ~1/2 mile north of our location, off of Lakeshore Drive. Other launches at different parts of the lake are also available. Open most of the year. MARINAS IS VERY CLOSE Sugarloaf Marina is walking distance from our lake house & can be easily seen from the decks. Depending on the time of the year and the lake level, this marina offers many different things. Boat Slips Are available during the warmer seasons. Historically the rate has been $25 per night. This is a nice way to come and go to your boat from the house. Book ahead. Fuel & Store Fuel, Ice, cold drinks, ice cream, snacks, fishing supplies and more are available at the marina store. Fuel is always more expensive on the lake. The closest gas station before you get to the lake is the Shell station just on the other side of the 5 freeway. This is about 3 miles from the house. Boat Rentals Are available. Check with the marinas. You might want to call multiple marinas as prices & options vary greatly. Sugarloaf may not have any rentals. 11 P a g e

Off Road & ATV Trails Lots of places including a 12 mile path up the mountains close to lake house. Travel down to lake s edge & explore (when lake is low) Walks & Hikes Great neighborhood for walks. Bike Rides Some rides include down to the market or in the other direction around the lake until the paved road ends. ½ Day and Day Trips Mt. Shasta, Town of Mt. Shasta, Lassen National Park, Castle Crags State Park (see our web site) Caverns on the lake See Shasta Magazine or on line for details. Skiing, Snowboarding and Winter Sports Located at Mount Shasta about 45-60 minutes away PLEASE NOTE: Although it is beautiful around the lake house, the snow fall is limited in this area as we are at a less than 2000 foot elevation. We might get a couple inches or a foot in extreme storms but in general there is not snow on the ground for most of the winter. You can although drive to the show including up the 4WD trails in Lakehead. 13 P a g e
LAKE LEVEL INFORMATION LAKE LEVEL AND BOATING: Lake Shasta is a reservoir so the lake level and the shore proximity to the house will vary greatly based on winter rains, droughts and the time of the year (highest in late spring, early summer and lowest in the late fall/early winter) as you can see in some of the photos. In drought conditions the lake can drop 100-150 feet. The home s distance to the lakes edge can go from 50 feet (like in May 2016) to several hundred yards (like fall 2015) if not more. Although the water level was down significantly in late 2015 after four years of drought, the boat ramp remained open and there was plenty of water to enjoy a day or a week on the water. Shasta is a very large lake. It still took over 45 minutes to drive a power boat at speed from our lake home to one of many other parts of the lake. This past winter was great for Shasta. As of May 2016 the lake is up over 150 feet and only about 10 feet from the top. In any case the views from the deck of the house are nice when the lake is full and also when it is very low. LOCATION OF LAKE HOUSE Lakehead, CA Sacramento arm of lake which is one of the longest and considered the best by most for boating, lodging and fishing. From Bay Area of California Much easier drive than Tahoe Straight and uncrowded Highway 5 until you get to the exit for our house and then only 3 miles of country road. About 30 miles further than Tahoe from Bay Area but without the traffic up Hwy 80 or 50...and easy straight 70MPH speed limit on Hwy 5 & 505. Example times include (without a trailer): Vacaville: ~2 hours, 30 minutes Pleasanton: ~3 Hours, 30 minutes San Jose: ~3 Hours, 50 minutes We are located: ~1.5 hours south California/Oregon border ~30 miles south of Mt. We had an absolute blast! It was exactly as pictured and very clean which we appreciated. Owners were wonderful to deal with and always very prompt in answering any questions we had. We took our kids and grandkids and had a great time renting a patio boat (Marina couldn't be any closer) and enjoying the view on the deck. Thanks for providing the source of many happy memories! Wonderful house with great view! This experience was one of our family s best vacations. The house had everything we needed, except our food. We really enjoyed the large wrap around decks and the hot tub!! So peaceful and close to everything. We'll be back!! We had a great week at the house/lake! Weather was perfect for wakeboarding and tubing. The house was perfect and right on the water. We only had to go around the corner for the boat ramp so that was even better! The family can't wait to go again next year! Thank you again for a fun week! Just returned from a wonderful trip to Shasta Lake where we spent most of our time in our boat on the lake. us and they were able to take over the lower half of the house. My husband and I slept on the main floor. We were all very comfortable. Already planning next year s trip to Shasta! I can honestly say that the Lakeshore Retreat is the perfect accommodation while visiting Lake Shasta, especially if you have a boat. The marina is within easy walking distance and it's only $25/night to rent a slip! I loved the large deck with a beautiful view of the lake. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans and the big BBQ on the deck is great! The beds were really comfortable and we slept soundly, it was so peaceful. We'll definitely return next summer. This house was Home for us for a week, Home it was... Very peaceful, very beautiful, the deck was awesome looking over the lake and the marina where we had our boats. Sure miss our morning coffee there. With a party of 9 people, it was spacious, plenty of room, very clean, supplied nicely, everyone loved it Chere' was very gracious to work with, Thanks Chere' "Our Vacation of a life time" Thanks again. It is a fantastic getaway to nature and a great way for our families to reconnect. We are back. This is our second year. I enjoyed coffee once again on the deck. This is paradise to me. It got pretty hot but still beautiful. We got light rain one evening which made everything smell terrific. Three deer come by every day and stop to see if I have any fresh fruit for them. I am convinced I will retire up here.
