Inside Todaiji Temple is Nara Daibutsu, Japan s largest bronze Buddha statue standing 14.98 meters tall. Covered in gold foil and originally built in 1397, the Golden Pavilion was a country chateau for Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, later named Rokuonji and converted into a Buddhist temple. Dotonbori Mt. Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion) Arriving in Asakusa by a water taxi allows us to enjoy views of Asakusa and the Tokyo Skytree. The Asakusa district is the old Edo district, best known for the Sensoji Temple: the oldest and best known temple of Tokyo. Osaka is reputed as the kitchen of Japan with Dotonbori as its culinary center. The area has the highest concentration of restaurants and stands serving Japanese delicacies. Arashiyama has kept intact many of its antiquated dwellings and temples. The Bamboo Forest provides a majestic setting for a peaceful walk.
