Group guide 2015 visitstoke.co.uk Great Places to Visit

Welcome There s always something going on here Welcome Stoke-on-Trent is a unique City affectionately known as The Potteries. With its rich industrial heritage it has respectfully claimed the title of World Capital of Ceramics. The City boasts many visitor centres, award winning museums, over 25 pottery factory shops and the exclusive Staffordshire Hoard. Come and visit the Trentham Estate with its Italian Gardens, Shopping Village, Monkey Forest, Aerial Extreme and mile long lake. We are also the closest city to Alton Towers theme park. A day will not be enough! The City is located less than an hour from Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool and only one and a half hours from London Euston by train. How to use this guide This guide is divided into themes: The Potteries; Shopping and Markets; Leisure and Entertainment; Gardens and Historic Houses; Accommodation and Meal Stops. Within The Potteries you ll find visitor centres, factory tours, museums and factory shops. To help plan your visit to The Potteries, we ve grouped the pottery attractions into clusters the City Centre; the North of the City; and the South of the City. Please use this guide in conjunction with the coach maps which are in the inside back cover of this guide.
