Mrs Olga Polizzi, Director of Design, Rocco Forte Hotels comments Hotel Savoy s presidential suite is a very attractive suite in a stunning position, overlooking the Piazza della Repubblica. Comfortable and warm, light and airy, it embodies the spirit of Florence. Guests enter the elegant Olga Polizzi designed suite, through double doors into the warm main salon with joyful yellow tones, and accents of blue and red recalling the colourful flags and pennants of Florentine Nobility. Antique furniture - a classical portrait bust - sits alongside contemporary artworks in the large living room. A small library has been added with classical Italian works, including poetry and short stories to give guests a taste of Florence. The Blue Shoe painting echoes the playful art in the rest of the hotel, as a nod to traditional Florentine craftsmanship. Authentic Italian fabrics have been used in the adjacent master bedroom which has a super king size bed. The dominant feature in this room is a full height bed-hanging in Cobalt blue with Florentine patterns and motifs which have also been used throughout. The new bathroom of the main bedroom is adorned with Carrara marble and features a large mosaic panel over the double ended bath.
