Japanese Festival Matsuri is the Japanese word meaning festival, and the Japanese people take their festivals seriously. A visit to a Japanese matsuri is a fantastic opportunity to get a glimpse of the often shy and reserved Japanese at their most uninhibited. As a foreigner, you may even find yourself being encouraged into joining in the proceedings, particularly at the smaller local matsuri, a special Japanese experience indeed. 10
