Originally a Lakeland farm barn, it has been converted into individual dwellings, with Little Eden being set on the ground floor. From the courtyard a stable door leads into the open plan living space with entrance hall area. This spacious room has a fitted kitchen with built in oven and breakfast bar, with the living area having exposed beams and superb views across the valley to Great Meldrum and Gowbarrow Fell. At the rear of the property is a good sized bedroom with views onto the courtyard and bathroom with shower over bath. The cottage has a designated parking space in the courtyard and an outdoor seating area to sit and enjoy the surrounding views. The development is surrounded by fields and open countryside with direct access onto the fell-side. The property is presently a holiday let and can also serve as a main residence or second home. 4

Local Area Guide Little Eden cottage is set on a peaceful, elevated barn conversion development on the fell side above the hamlet of Matterdale End, with exceptional views across the Matterdale Valley towards the Ullswater fells. This idyllic valley offers breathtaking scenery and a wealth of outdoor pursuits, including hiking, cycling and horse riding. Ullswater is a short distance away with a number of marinas, yachts clubs and Ullwater Steamer boats for leisure time on the lake. There is an excellent choice of lakeside hotels with restaurants and leisure facilities, with a number of traditional inns nearby in Dockray and Troutbeck. Matterdale End is ideally located between Ullswater and the A66, which offers easy access to the M6 and the market towns of Keswick and Penrith, with West Coast Main Line train station.
