LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT 20-Y2 2016-2017 DIRECTORY JAMES GRIFFITH DISTRICT GOVERNOR 20Y2Lions.org bit.ly/20y2fb

District Governor s Message Lions, Lionesses and Leos, For 100 years Lions have served their communities and impacted millions worldwide. As we celebrate 100 years of service, we honor and acknowledge our past, embrace our present and BALANCE CHANGE for the future. Life is continually filled with many "New Mountains to Climb," but without a "balanced" approach we will not be able to maneuver through the ever "changing" horizon. It begins with Membership Satisfaction, fortify the we serve atmosphere with programs that relate to our goals and mission of Lions Clubs International. We will mentor and develop new and eager Lions with praise and specific plans for improvement. At last, we will reward members with well thought out merit and recognition. As a result of high quality support services from our committee, region and zone chairs; and effective policies and procedures, we will be able to serve our communities so that we create value, loyalty and satisfaction amongst our members. Secondly, by creating a culture in which member satisfaction and loyalty is high we will directly impact Community Satisfaction. Ultimately, we need to sharpen our focus on "We Serve" efforts to ensure the community is satisfied with clubs efforts and attempts to assist. Clubs should diligently be focused on LCI's Centennial Service Challenge and Legacy Projects to strengthen Lions presence in the community. After establishing community needs and garnering support, our clubs will continue to define proactive Service Activities tailored to the aforementioned. Whether a fundraiser, an awareness campaign or advocacy for a special needs project; our clubs will serve with "Dignity, Harmony and Humanity" as we strive to be the answer for resolve in our communities. Lastly, through collaborative service with our communities we will gain awareness for our clubs and assist in promoting Membership. We will focus on developing services in communities where we are not and continue focus in the communities where we already are. We will continue to seek out qualified leaders for our district and continue to "Strengthen the Pride." In conclusion, as District Governor for Multiple District 20-Y2, I do solemnly swear to perform all duties of the governorship to the best of my abilities. Now is the time to plan and take action to continue to build our clubs and our district, so that we may infinitely support our communities and maintain the focus of global humanitarian efforts. We Serve!!! James Griffith District Governor

LIONS ETHICS To show my faith in the worthiness of my vocation by industrious application to the end that I may merit a reputation for quality of service. To seek success and to demand all fair remuneration or profit as my just due, but to accept no profit or success at the price of my own self-respect lost because of unfair advantage taken or because of questionable acts on my part. To remember that in building up my business it is not necessary to tear down another s: to be loyal to my clients or customers and true to myself. Whenever a doubt arises as to the right or ethics of my position or action towards my fellow men, to resolve such doubt against myself. To hold friendship as an end and not a means. To hold that true fellowship exists not on account of the service performed by one to another, but that true friendship demands nothing but accepts service in the spirit in which it is given. Always to bear in mind my obligations as a citizen to my nation, my state and my community, and to give them my unswerving loyalty in word, act and deed. To give them freely of my time, labor, and means. To aid my fellow men by giving my sympathy to those in distress, my aid to the weak, and my substance to the needy. To be careful with my criticism and liberal with my praise; to build up and not destroy.
