«Prevention and management of noise in the city : Overview of good practices in European cities». On November 28th and 30th, the City of Paris and Bruitparif will welcome the European members of the EUROCITIES network participating in the Working Group Noise for two days of workshops. The morning of November 28th will be dedicated to the issue of quiet zones in workshops by the project Life+ Quadmap, while the afternoon will be devoted to noise assessment methods and presentation of first results of the Life+ project, Harmonica. The second day of workshops will be held on November 30th and divided into two parts: the morning will allow the City of Paris to explain its noise actions in terms of traffic management and street design, with a particular focus on the multiple strategies against noise implemented on the Paris Ring Road. An on-site visit (Porte de Vincennes) will offer a better understanding of the issue and of the actions already implemented or planned. Finally, the afternoon will be devoted to meetings about the european projects CNOSSOS and Life+ Hush and the fonomoc network. On November 29th, a European Symposium will be held at the Ile-de-France Regional Council. This conference will provide an update on the progress of the action plans required by the European Directive 2002/49/EC. It will present good practices implemented by major European cities to fight against noise and allow experience-sharing. Open to all, this day of debate will allow local and regional authorities to enhance their knowledge in noise management and to adopt the required tools to strengthen their noise action plan.
