The Sea of Cortez Where the desert meets the sea LORETO to CABO SAN LUCAS in the Sea of Cortez Just south of California lies an inland sea known as the Gulf of California, or the Sea of Cortez, lying between mainland Mexico and the Baja Peninsula. An island-hopping journey will lead you through wildlife-rich waters, teaming with whales, dolphins, sea lions, birdlife and discovering the flora and fauna that make the area famous for the richness of its marine life.

Day 1 >> LORETO Fly into the Palapa style airport of stunning Loreto, a town rich in history as the oldest missionary outpost in Baja California, surrounded by the Sierra Giganta (Mountains of the Giants), making it one of the most rugged and spectacular places on the peninsula. Visit this unspoilt historical town with its shady piazzas, authentic craft stores and cobbled streets, followed by a tour to the restored Mission of San Javier in the mountains. Enjoy a sundowner cocktail on board NOBLE HOUSE, and set sail for an evening cruise around the Islas Coronadas.
Day 2 >> ISLA CARMEN A breakfast cruise east to Isla Carmen provides a perfect start to touring the Sea of Cortez (26nm 3 hours). From one of the many great anchorages surrounding the island, enjoy the yacht's large selection of water-sports equipment and for the adventurous, kayak around the island to view the aptly named Painted Cliffs. The adjacent Sierra Giganta coast is home to amazing birdlife: Ospreys, the frigate bird and brown pelicans to name but a few.
Day 3 >> ISLA ESPIRITU SANTO An overnight passage south for Isla Espiritu Santo - the Holy Spirit Island (90 miles 7 hours cruising). Of nearly a thousand islands, this is the jewel of the Sea of Cortez, and the most stunning views are found here. Its contrasting desert landscapes of reddish limestone cliffs juxtaposed with turquoise blue sea are exquisite. Isla Partida is connected to Isla Espiritu Santo by a narrow isthmus. These two islands are protected by UNESCO as Biospheres and a World Heritage Site for their biodiversity and stunning scenery. This protected area is home to coral reefs, colonies of sea lions, dolphins, whales and over 800 species of fish. The waters are home to 39% of the world s fish, and the perfect location to enjoy a spot of diving from NOBLE HOUSE.
Day 4 >> ISLA PARTIDA & LOS ISLOTES The clear, calm waters of your anchorage in Ensenada del Candelero (Candlestick Cove) make it an excellent setting for kayaking and paddle boarding, or for those wanting underwater adventure, some snorkeling or diving. Moving anchorage only 3 nm to Isla Partida, a short tender ride will take you to the stunning Los Islotes, a rock formation which is home to sea lions and their pups. The best part: You can snorkel or dive alongside them! Marvel at the famous El Hongo (mushroom rock), just one choice of spectacular sites in the area.
Day 5 >> LA PAZ Twenty miles (2 hours) cruising brings you to the capital of Baja California, La Paz, an excellent area for serious sports fishers. Catches of Marlin, Sailfish, Swordfish, Dorado and Yellowfin Tuna are plentiful, and even the most avid sport fishers will not be disappointed! Take the NOBLE HOUSE s sport fishing tender and enjoy a day of thrilling fishing in and around La Paz. If fishing is not your thing, take a lunch excursion to the famous Hotel California located in Todos Santos, which was recently granted the status of Pueblo Magico. Todos Santos draws travellers from far and wide with for its fine art, good surfing, and for its older, traditional Mexican vibe. Back at the La Paz Marina you will find modern conveniences and outstanding restaurants, along with a golf course boasting outstanding views of La Paz bay.
Day 6 >> PARQUE NACIONAL CABO PULMO & SAN JOSE DEL CABO An overnight cruise from La Paz to Cabo San Lucas. Wake up to stunning views of Lands End, the southern most point of the Baja Peninsula and the gateway to the town of Cabo San Lucas. The long white sand beach in front of the town is excellent for walking, or for those who want a little more adventure, enjoy the wildlife and desert landscape from the seat of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV). The town is also excellent for finding authentic Mexican craft art in one of the many shops. If golfing is more to your taste, there are six spectacular golf courses between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. A relaxing onshore dinner will finish the day in luxury at The Palmilla One & Only restaurant one of the best of the peninsula, in a hotel classed as one of the best hundred in the world.
Day 7 >> CABO Depart NOBLE HOUSE following a leisurely breakfast to savour the Mexican lifestyle, followed by a short transfer to San Jose airport, Cabo.
