Tour Details: Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra Dr. John Sinclair, Conductor Tour of Germany and the Czech Republic Itinerary #9, Edition #1 Date of this Proposal: August 23, 2016 PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC June 15 19, 2017 (1 night in flight and 3 nights in Prague) Our overnight flight arrives on Friday morning in Munich, transferring to Prague (independent lunch stop en route). Check into the hotel and dinner provided. On Saturday morning we have a guided tour of Prague Castle and the Strahov Library (2 hours). After an independent lunch, we have an Acoustical Rehearsal. The remainder of the afternoon is free to explore the city center. We have an Evening Concert (venue tba) followed by dinner together. On Sunday morning we visit the center of Prague, with a guided tour of the Charles Bridge and Old Town Square (2 hours). The remainder of Sunday is kept free for you to explore Prague. Meals: Breakfast daily and 2 dinners LEIPZIG, GERMANY June 19 22, 2017 (3 nights in Leipzig) Monday morning we depart for Dresden, where we have 4 hours of free time. Enjoy lunch, take an open top sightseeing tour or visit one of the many museums in the Zwinger (part of the former Royal Palace and Gardens). Continue on to Leipzig. Dinner provided. On Tuesday morning we have a guided walking tour of Leipzig, including St. Nicholas and St. Thomas Churches. We conclude the tour with an entrance to the Bach Archiv and Museum. The early afternoon is free for you to explore on your own. We have an Acoustical Rehearsal (venue tba) prior to our Evening Concert. Dinner provided after the performance. Wednesday is kept completely free for you to explore Leipzig on your own. Optional excursions are available, such as Eisleben, Erfurt and Eisenach (important cities in the life of Martin Luther, as Germany is celebrating 500 years of the Reformation). Dinner independent. Meals: Breakfast daily and 2 dinners BERLIN, GERMANY June 22 25, 2017 (3 nights in Berlin) On Thursday morning, en route to Berlin, we pass through Wittenberg, where 500 years ago Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church. We arrive into Berlin, check into the hotel and you have the remainder of the afternoon and evening free. Friday morning we have a guided orientation tour (Berlin Wall, Reichstag, Holocaust Memorial, Brandenburg Gate). Free time to explore. In the late afternoon we have an Acoustical Rehearsal prior to our Evening Concert (venue tbc). Saturday is kept free for you to explore Berlin (we are providing a Transportation Pass for Metro/Tram/Bus), with our Farewell Banquet together this evening.
