Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 03/21/2016 11:43pm 23000 Greenfield Rd. (Commercial- Pharmacy) Unlocked rear door. Officers were dispatched to an Alarm at Pharmacy at 11:42pm. Officers arrived and discovered an unlocked back door. Dispatch advised the alarm company observed a B/M wearing black pants, a white jacket with blue sleeves, and a green hat exit the back door of the building. This subject was later located by Officers. Suspect made admissions that he found an open door at CVS and went inside and took a pair of reading glasses. DISPOSITION: Suspect was released pending further investigation to his brother. It was discovered that suspect suffers from autism. Suspect stays with his mother who lives nearby. Based on these findings representative from Pharmacy advised they didn t wish to prosecute. Suspect was released and turned over to his brother. 03/24/2016 8:53pm 26000 Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Management) Attempt only on rear door to business. At 9:15pm R/P discovered rear door lock was damaged. R/P checked the video and observed an unknown person by the door. Person had what appeared to be a pry bar in his hand. No further information at this time.

From: 03/25/2016 6:00pm To: 03/26/2016 11:13am 24000 Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Storage) Unit may have been easily defeated due to the strained capacity. Representative from Storage Facility states the unit in question was found to be secure when she did her walk through lock check at closing on 3/25/2016 at 6:00pm. She was notified of the locker being forced open and items all over the hall at 11:13pm on 3/26/2016. R/P notified the owner of storage unit who responded to the scene. Owner states he has not been to the unit in over a year. He did state the unit was filled beyond capacity. He believed he was missing a microwave and a storage tote full of DVD's. Surveillance Video shows that the incident possibly occurred at 1:10am. A black male dressed in all black could be observed briefly pushing a cart with 2 storage bins. Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 03/21/2016 6:12pm 03/22/2016 4:22am 25000 Maplebrooke Dr. (Residential- Condo s) 24000 Primrose Ln. (Residential- Condo s) Front Door was kicked in. Rear door glass was broken out. Victim states sometime between 1:00pm- 5:45pm someone forced entry into condo by kicking in the front door. Once inside suspect(s) removed a jewelry box from the master bedroom. Other bedrooms also appeared to have been gone through. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens should not keep their jewelry and other valuables in the master bedroom. This is usually the first place that would be criminals go because most people keep their valuables there! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Officers were dispatched to 24000 Block of Primrose Ln. for a report of a Domestic Disturbance. Office s investigation revealed that female half of dispute had moved out of victim s condo approx. one month ago. Female half returned today, forced entry into victim s condo by breaking out the glass on rear door, and then assaulted victim with a hammer and bit him. The female suspect was arrested for Domestic Assault and Home Invasion.

03/23/2016 7:30pm 23000 Wrexford Dr. No forced entry. Victim states he was gone from 3:00pm- 7:00pm. He didn t lock the doors when he left. When victim returned he discovered that some tax documents were missing from the residence. From: 03/23/2016 7:15pm To: 03/23/2016 8:50pm 30000 Northgate Dr. Entry possibly through bedroom window. Victim states sometime between 7:15pm- 8:50pm someone gained entry into residence and took a PS3 Gaming System. Victim thinks his son may be involved in this incident. The home was alarmed during the times of incident and there were no activations and no signs of forced entry. Southfield Detectives later discovered that victim s son sold the Gaming System to a Gaming Business in Southfield. Victim was advised of these findings. Case Closed. From: 03/24/2016 10:30am To: 03/25/2016 11:30am 21000 Sherman Ave. (Vacant Residence Under Renovation) Rear metal door was pried open. Victim states he just finished renovating the above address and a sale is currently pending. Victim states he last observed the residence in normal condition on 03/24/16 at approx. 10:30am. On 03/25/16 at approx. 11:30am, victim stopped by to check on the property and discovered the rear metal door pried open and all of the appliances missing. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens need to pay close attention to Vacant, For Sale and Homes under Renovation. From: 03/24/2016 12:30pm To: 03/26/2016 11:00am From: 03/27/2016 8:15am To: 03/27/2016 12:26pm 22000 Ivanhoe Ln. East side door was kicked in to the attached garage. Suspect then kicked/pushed the interior door to gain access to the home. 22000 Cottage Dr. Rear door was kicked in. Victim and his family were out of town between 03/24/2016 12:30pm and 03/26/2016 11:00am. Between those times someone forced entry into residence. The homes security system hard drive was taken and several bedrooms were gone through. Clothing, shoes and jewelry are missing from the residence. Victim states he left his residence at approx. 8:15am to go to church. Victim returned home from church at 12:26pm and found the front door wide open and the rear door kicked in. Victim looked through the house and found several drawers rummaged through and then contacted the police. Electronic items are missing from the residence. 03/27/2016 9:51pm 28000 Lockdale (Residential- Apartments) Apartment door was pried and damaged. (Attempt Only) Tips: Let trusted neighbors know if you are not going to be at home Be cautious about who you let in your home for service and repairs Contact the Southfield Police Crime Prevention Bureau for a free home security inspection (248) 796-5409 On 03/27/2016 between 2:00pm and 7:00pm unknown suspect(s) attempted to make entry through the front door. At 7:00pm when victim arrived home, she found the door closed and locked. There was pry mark damage to the door (near the dead lock) and on the frame. The door frame was cracked on the inside of the residence. Entry was not gained. Attempt Only.

Victim stated her grandson spent the night last night and was missing this morning from the bedroom. Victim believes her grandson took the vehicle because he s done it before; he has a key to her club and believes he had a spare key made for her vehicle. On 3/22/2016 MSP (Oak Park Post) located and recovered the vehicle. The vehicle was occupied by the victim s grandson as she suspected. Grandson was taken into custody by MSP. 03/25/2016 3:41pm 24000 Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Rental) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer TOYOTA Model 10 A Color GRY - Gray Vehicle Year 2014 State MI Description Grey Toyota Corolla Suspect rented the vehicle 03-03-2016 through 03-21-2016 from Leasing Agency. Suspect has not returned the vehicle and Leasing Agency has exhausted all contact options for suspect. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. The vehicle was entered as stolen.

Victim states his vehicle keys are also missing. The vehicle was parked at the Hotel. Victim s vehicle was parked in the carport next to the 26000 Block of Stanford Dr. W. Sometime between 03/25/2016 10:30am- 03/26/2016 9:30am someone took All Four Wheels & Tires from victims 2014 Dodge Charger. 03/27/2016 2:07am 17000 Northland Park (Commercial- Office) Status S Stolen License Plate License Year 2016 Notes MICHGAN PLATE Victim states sometime between 8:42pm- 11:24pm while vehicle was parked in the 17000 Block of Northland Park Ct. in Southfield someone took the License Plate from victims 1998 Mercury. Tips: Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight. Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked

Be on the Look Out Highlights: Special Attention- Marijuana Smuggle Parcel 03/26/2016 8:08am 21000 Block of Melrose Ave. (Common Carrier) Officers initiated a parcel interdiction investigation in the 21000 Block of Melrose. While conducting the investigation, Officers located two parcels that were consistent with narcotics trafficking by way of parcel. Management opened the parcels consistent with their company policy and all were found to contain contraband. Several bundles of suspected marijuana were recovered. Special Attention: Home Invasions at Vacant Properties. Several vacant residences, residences under renovations, and residences that are for sale have been broken into recently. Vacant Homes and Homes That Are For Sale are being broken into and the copper piping, furnaces and in some cases the hot water heaters are being taken from the residence. Homes that are Under Renovation are being broken into and the Brand New Appliances (Stove, Microwave, Dishwasher, and Refrigerator) are being taken. Any citizen that see s any suspicious activity i.e. work trucks, vehicles large enough to put large items into at these residences, especially during late night or early morning hours should immediately call the police. Citizens should not confront or let subjects know that you are observing them. If you see items being loaded into vehicles call 911. Domestic Aggravated Assault- 1- Arrest 03/21/2016 2:32pm 25000 Block of Greenfield Rd (Apartments) Victim states suspect (boyfriend) and his Aunt & Uncle were together doing Crack Cocaine. Victim went into suspect s bedroom to get away from everyone. Suspect got upset that victim wasn t socializing with everyone and he assaulted victim hitting her several times. Victim thought that he broke her arm so she called 911 for medical assistance. Officers arrived on scene a short time later. Investigation led to the arrest of victim s boyfriend for Domestic Aggravated Assault.

Possession of Marijuana/ DWLS- 2- Arrests Telegraph Rd. & Swanson 2:21am Officer stopped a vehicle for an improper plate. Upon talking to the two occupants Officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver was concealing a single baggie of suspected marijuana on his person and the passenger had a container with suspected marijuana in his possession. Both suspects arrested and lodged. It was also discovered that the driver of the vehicle had Several Warrants and was Suspended 13 times with One Prior Conviction.

Fleeing & Eluding- 1- Arrest 30000 Block of Southfield Rd. Officers were dispatched to the location on a report of a Domestic Disturbance/Child Custody Dispute. Upon arrival, Officer located the male half and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. As Officer exited his vehicle, the suspect began to flee northbound through the parking lot. A low speed vehicle pursuit ensued through the parking lot. Officer pulled up next to subject s vehicle activated siren, overheads were already on, got on PA System and told subject to stop his vehicle. The driver of the vehicle just waved at Officer and kept going. Additional Officers attempted to assist with stopping vehicle but again the driver refused to stop. Officers were eventually able to get the vehicle stopped before it exited the parking lot. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody and lodged at the Southfield Jail Facility. OWI- 1- Arrest Twelve Mile Rd & Telegraph Rd. Officer was dispatched to the location on a report of an intoxicated driver. Upon arrival, Officer located the suspect vehicle and made contact with the driver. An OWI investigation was conducted and the driver was arrested for OWI and lodged.

Possession of Heroin- 1- Arrest 03/21/2016 2:34pm W Eight Mile Rd. & Shiawassee Rd. Southfield units were dispatched to the area of W. 8 Mile Rd & Shiawassee on a report of several subjects fighting. After Officers arrived on scene it was discovered that a subject was found in a restricted area that was fenced off (Traffic Management) and was going through several of the workers vehicles. The suspect fled the area and workers chased subject and apprehended him. The suspect admitted to Officers that he was in the restricted area and went through some of the vehicles looking for some cigarettes. At this time it doesn t appear that anything is missing from any of the vehicles. During the pat down of suspect he told Officers that he had a syringe and small baggie with suspected Heroin in his pocket. These items were located and taken as evidence. The suspect was arrested for Possession of Heroin. Suspect also had several Felony Warrants out of other jurisdictions. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician later Field Tested the suspected substance and the results were inconclusive. Suspect was released pending further investigation.

OWI/ DWLS/ Possession of Marijuana- 1- Arrest Telegraph Rd/ Grodan 3:04am Officer, while working the OWI detail, stopped a vehicle for travelling above the posted speed limit. Upon investigating the driver it was determined that he was OWI and Arrested. The driver also had a suspended license and was in possession of marijuana. OWI- 1- Arrest Southfield Rd. & Mt Vernon 1:47am Officer stopped a vehicle for travelling above the posted speed limit. Upon speaking with the driver it was apparent that he had consumed intoxicating beverages. The driver was investigated for OWI and arrested.
