Ljubljana Airport today and tomorrow Today, the existing passenger and freight terminals do not allow a substantial traffic volume increase or an expansion of facilities on existing sites. Both terminals are already impeded by bottlenecks and thus represent a limiting factor in terms of passengers and cargo traffic. The planned and completed investments in and around the airport cover three types of developments: 1. Infrastructure developments carried out by the State, financed partly by EU funds. The projects were focused mainly on railway, road or motorway network development. 2. Some of the investments are financed by the airport operator. The projects are part of development following the Masterplan that includes the short-and mid-term developments of the airport operator. 3. The thirds type of investments is carried out by private developers and are focused on logistic parks, industrial areas and retail or business centers.

General plan of airport zone development The new terminal: o 33.783 m2 gross area o 31.175 m² net usable spaces on four floors connected with the first phase of the terminal built in 2007. o 8.553 m² - commercial purposes New capacity - 1.800 passengers per hour. C-level services in line with the IATA standard

General plan of airport zone development

The new cargo terminal 9.945 m2 of warehouse area 3.500 m2 of office area and supporting facilities Access from north through the eastern roundabout on the main road G2-104 Kranj - Brnik. On the plateau in front - 174 parking spaces for cars for employees and visitors Plateau for trucks manipulation and access to the 22 doors with lifting platforms new 54.000 m2 apron for cargo aircraft supply estimated storage capacity is 40.000 tonnes / year

Aeropolis - Masterplan Aeropolis a premium location for doing business, especially for: hotel and catering services, logistics and distribution, high-tech companies, banks and insurance companies, offices and agencies, congresses and fairs, regional branches of airline companies, small businesses and start-ups, retail and entertainment, leisure, fitness and recreation (golf ), other street-level services (drugstore, hairdresser, etc.).

Bussiness activity EUROPE STATE OF ART REPORT (KTI Institute for Transport Sciences Nonprofit Ltd.) The global accessibility can be a basic decision element on business location decisions. For example the good connections of the Vienna Airport have enabled Vienna to provide the location for the East European headquarters of several global companies and this is the case in Prague and Budapest as well. While the strong high tech industries as a hinterland can also contribute to the economic development of the airport and the airport regions like in the cases of the Nice, Copenhagen or even of the Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
