Accommodation (Huntington House) ber
ALDERMAN JACOBS PRIMARY SCHOOL (ACADEMY TRUST) Timetable 2017
EXPECTED COST This year we are expecting the York trip to cost roughly 216 per child. This includes coach transport, accommodation, all food and all attractions. The reason we have to give a current estimated cost, is because some attractions that we visit (such as the York dungeons and chocolate factory), do not release their new year prices until after January has arrived. We are expecting the prices that they quoted us last year to remain the same and so this is how our estimate has been formed.
Expectations in the house Respect the bedroom and the fact that the house is an older house and needs looking after. The owners live underneath the house, so no stomping loudly or jumping! Ensure that your rubbish is put in the bin in your room. Remember r your manners especially at dinner time. You may be serving the food for your table, so be sensible and wait patiently. When you are expected to be asleep, make sure that you are. You will need your sleep, as your daytime activities are very tiring! In the morning, you will all be woken by an adult: this will be at around 7:30am. If you wake before this time, you must be respectful of people still sleeping and be quiet! Every morning we expect you to have a shower. Please be sensible in the en-suite and hang your towel up after to make sure it dries.
Expectations around York York has very narrow streets, therefore you will be expected to walk in single-file at times to make sure that members of the public can safely use the footpath also. Keep with your partner and group leader! Be polite at all times especially when visiting places and shopping. r Set a good example of yourself and our school. You are aware that we will be walking a lot. Please don t ruin your own day by constantly moaning or becoming annoyed about the fact that we are walking lots! When enjoying free-time to play, ensure that you show good sportsmanship and be supportive of the people on the trip with you.
Food What will you be eating? Cooked breakfast there will always be something which is cooked. Cereal and toast will be on offer too. Packed r Lunch provided (a roll, crisps, chocolate biscuit, fruit and a drink). Homemade hot meal in the evening, which will be something different each day. Dietary requirements will be filled in on the medical form that will be given out if you are successful at gaining a place and will be catered for. Being a fussy eater is not a medical issue so you will be expected to try the food that is on offer.
Rooms After SATs the children will be organising who will stay as roommates with each other along with Miss Vickers. We will give you the opportunity to decide r who you would rather share with however choices must be sensible (don t pick somebody you always fall out with!). Miss Vickers will be overseeing and will have the overall say in the final set-up of each room. This may mean that you may not be in a room with everybody you would like to be with, due to the size of rooms.
Pocket money. Whilst you are in York you will have many opportunities to buy souvenirs, therefore if you wanted to bring some pocket money, you can. Things to remember: A maximum of 5 per day. This needs to be in separate envelopes, clearly labelled with your name. Overall there should be 5 envelopes. We will collect these in prior to the trip and information as to when this will happen will be sent out nearer the time. Each morning you will be given the option to take your daily allowance to spend. You do not have to spend your money each day. You could save it up and spend it on something more expensive that catches your eye. Please remember that your money, is your money. To avoid confusion, please do not lend or give any of your money to other people. Also, please do not ask other people if you can have some of their money or borrow from them.
Medication All medication will need to be handed to an adult at Reception upon arrival to school at 8am on the day of departure. You will be informed of who this adult will be nearer the time. All medication should be clearly labelled with the child s name and relevant instructions as to how to administer. A medical form will also need to be filled in nearer the time, which must include emergency contact details.
What next? All of the information we have shared tonight will go onto the website for you to refer back to (the power-point and the packing list). We will be sending a letter out via SchoolComms when we return after half term. Requests for places will be completed on the overleaf of this letter and then need to be returned to the school office. We have fifty spaces available in total. In the event of oversubscription, names of all the children requesting a place will be entered into a draw and places will be confirmed from this. If you are successful at gaining a place, a non-refundable deposit will then need to be paid via the school gateway. Dates for all of the above will be confirmed.
