Nepal volunteer work Volunteer - Yoga - Kathmandu - Bhaktapur - Trek - Study 24 March to 3 April. Mrs Rutten, Mrs Cannon, Mr Hardcastle chaperoning.
Nepal volunteer work trip We are trying to establish a sustainable development project in Nepal, a country the school has had an association with over the last decade. Tourism and voluntary work projects in Nepal can make a big difference to the lives of families. Our hope is to eventually set up a field work centre that our schools and others can go to year after year, bringing jobs and income to a poor region of this beautiful country.
This is our first trip in the project. We have put together a trip that will give the students and adults a great experience of Nepal. It will bring much needed income to the villages of Nuwakot and those along our trek. Students will have the opportunity to do voluntary work in a high school and meet the local students. They will also learn yoga, the history, language and culture of Nepal. They will undertake an easy trek to see the mountains and rural Nepal. Finally, they will explore the fantastic cities of the Kathmandu Valley and have an opportunity to go white water rafting.
We need 15 students as a minimum to make the trip viable. The cost is just SR8,500. Dates are 24 March to 3 April, meaning students will miss just one day of school. Application forms are on the school website and should be returned by 21 January with a deposit of SR2000. This will be refunded if your child does not get a place on the trip, or if the trip does not go ahead. Parents interested in going on the trip themselves are invited to contact Mr Hardcastle.
