10 th July 2017 Home International Regatta Strathclyde, Scotland 2017 Dear Team Member, Congratulations, on your selection to represent Ireland at the annual Home International Regatta which is being held at Strathclyde Park, Scotland. I must remind you that you are under the care of Rowing Ireland from the moment you arrive at the Dublin Airport for departure until the time you return to Dublin Airport. The team arrangements will consist of the following: FRIDAY 21 st July: 1. Everyone is to make their own way to Dublin Airport for Flight FR5772 which departs from Dublin Glasgow at 07:15am. There is a 15kg bag booked on the flight for everyone. Please make sure your bag doesn t exceed this as Rowing Ireland will not be covering any extra baggage fees. Make sure you arrive at the airport and meet at the Ryanair Check-in Desk at 05:00am at the latest, where I will have boarding cards ready. 2. Two buses will collect the team at Glasgow Airport and bring us to Strathclyde Park. We should arrive at Strathclyde Park at approx. 10:00am. The coaches will organize with everyone to get equipment ready and get some training spins. Lunch will be provided at the course. 3. At approximately 4:00pm the bus will bring everyone to the accommodation in the Village Hotel, Glasgow whereby everyone can check in and a buffet style dinner will be available. Dinner is from 5:00pm, so the buses need to leave Strathclyde Park sharp at 4:00pm. 4. After dinner, there will be Team Talk that all team members and coaches must attend and the gear for the following days racing will be handed out. 5. Everyone is expected then to go to bed early to get enough rest for the following days racing.
SATURDAY 22 nd JULY: 1. Breakfast will be served from 6:30am 7.30am (provisional) on Saturday morning. 2. The bus(es) will collect the team at the accommodation at 8:00am approx. to take the team to the course whereby everyone prepares for racing that day. 3. The regatta will start at 10.30am and will finish at 4.20pm. 4. Lunch will be provided at the course during the day. Details will be confirmed later. 5. After racing, all crews must ensure that their boats are de-rigged and loaded on to their respective trailers. This is a tedious job so all team members must help in getting the equipment packed away. If everyone does their bit, the job will be completed quicker and everyone will be able to depart the course. 6. Once the regatta is complete and the trailers have been fully loaded, the bus(es) will collect all team members and return to the accommodation in the Village Hotel, Glasgow. 7. The Regatta Banquet will be held at Hampden Park, Glasgow and is due to start at approx 8:00pm. Bus(es) will depart the Village Hotel, Glasgow at 7:15pm to bring all team members to the banquet. Return coaches will depart from Hampden Park at 12:30am. The dress code is semi-formal for the dinner i.e. shirt and tie and jacket/blazer if you wish, for the guys and dresses for the girls. All team members are expected to behave appropriately. SUNDAY 23 rd JULY: 1. Breakfast will be served between 7:00am 11:00am (provisional) 2. There are 3 return flights for the group, as 86 people couldn t be accommodated on the one return flight. The return flights are all Glasgow Dublin. The flight details are as follows EI3521 departing 09:45, EI3225 departing 2:00pm and FR5773 departing 3:25pm. Buses will be at the Hotel in plenty of time to bring people to the airport for their respective flights. The people who have the furthest to travel from Dublin Airport on the return journey, were put on the earlier flights. A list of each person s individual flight details are at the end of this document. Please ensure you know which return flight you are on. The passenger details have already been provided for the flights, so changes cannot be accommodated. 3. On arrival at your destination in Dublin Airport, everyone is to make their own arrangements to get home as this is where Rowing Ireland ceases to be your guardians! It is an honor for both you and Rowing Ireland that you have been selected to row for your country. We expect you to respect this achievement and be on your best behavior. By being part of the team, you agree to the Code of Conduct as brought to your attention. In the unlikely event of any trouble / nuisance caused by a team member, a serious view will be taken of this and the circumstances will be referred to the Rowing Ireland Disciplinary Officer for action.
