Become Invested Wildlander sponsorship is a unique opportunity to show the first-responder community that you appreciate their commitment and sacrifice. These are the folks who have trained long and hard to protect your life and property and the stunning natural beauty we so enjoy in Colorado. When you and your customers are out on the trails, or driving along the interstate, or spending time at home with your family, these are the people who show up when called for that bad day we hope you never have. Many responders are volunteers and they provide critical services without pay. Our heartfelt thanks are important. You can help by supporting the race with cash donations and by providing cash or in-kind donations that go directly to the participants and first-responders. Businesses and individuals like you can give back to the community and gain exposure to an outdoor, family-oriented crowd by sponsoring The Wildlander. Your organization will be promoted on our website and on social media. As a sponsor, your organization is invited to staff a booth and provide volunteers and participants. A portion of each entry goes to The Wildland Firefighter Foundation, a national organization that assists wildland firefighters and their families when they need it most. Wildland crews from around the country deploy to protect our forests and homes every year. These crews serve in the most arduous conditions, sleeping on the fireline most nights. The Wildlander typically raises over $2,000 for Larkspur Fire, and over $000 for the Wildland Firefighter Foundation, thanks to our sponsors The Wildlander staff is all-volunteer. Your sponsorship wholly supports the participants, the Wildland Firefighter Foundation and Larkspur Fire. All donations are tax-deductible. Race Overview The Wildlander is a unique event that brings the running community, the first responder community, local residents and runners from along the Front Range together at Sandstone Ranch. Sandstone Ranch is now a Douglas County open space! The 5k Run/Walk is an out-and-back course that appeals to all levels and ages, including those who would enjoy a nice walk in the brisk morning air that is Sandstone Ranch in the fall. It is the same course as the responders and the final legof the 2k. The 2k Run passes through most of Sandstone Ranch, including ponderosa forests, meadows, ponds, and historic structures. The Jay Shafer Memorial Cup is a friendly team event open to all responder agencies. Participants follow the 5k course in backpacks, simulating the wildland firefighter pack test. The event is held in honor of Jay Shafer, a Larkspur Firefighter lost in the line of duty in 200. Never forget!
