Greece Voyaging around Greece, a region rich in history and mythology, is a golden opportunity to discover a delightful constellation of islands set in fair romantic blue waters. Frequent ports of call invite latter day Argonauts to journey inland and admire the cradle of civilisation. Wonder at the whitewashed towns precariously perched above sparkling harbours, then relish the carefree fizz of local festivals, fuelled by the hospitable tavernas and cordial hosts. The great thing about Greece is that it has something to suit everyone. Whether you prefer to see the art and the historical monuments, experience the natural surroundings, sample the food or party all night long, your options are open and varied. You can combine cultural sightseeing and lazing around in the sun or water sports. An ancient temple or mythical site is never far away, the pace is relaxed, the food delicious and healthy. Hop from one to another of the ever-popular islands, which cling to their stereotypical architecture and way of life despite the tourism. Then, as the sun goes down, the atmosphere livens up. The Greeks have known how to throw a party since the days of Dionysus, so it s hardly surprising. What better introduction to the Greek philosophy of life? 2
