FUTURE GROWING APEX - BRINKMAN PCA BIENNIAL CONFERENCE 2017 PARTNERSHIP AND EXHIBITION PROSPECTUS WWW.PROTECTEDCROPPINGAUSTRALIA.COM./2017CONFERENCE

PROTECTED CROPPING AUSTRALIA AND THE INDUSTRY The Protected Cropping Industry is the fastest growing food producing sector in Australia, valued at around $1.8 billion at the farm gate per annum. This is equivalent to 20% of the value of total vegetable and cut flower production in Australia (RIRDC report HSA-9A). It is estimated that more than 10,000 people are employed directly in greenhouse horticulture throughout Australia, with the industry expanding at between 4-6% per annum. The average return on investment is between 5% and 10%. The potential return on investment for high technology greenhouse vegetable enterprises is around 20-25% per annum. Protected Cropping Australia (PCA) is the peak industry body representing commercial hydroponic and greenhouse growers Australia wide. PCA members also include equipment and installation suppliers, specialist consultants and advisors, researchers and educators. CONFERENCE COMMITTEE Jeremy Badgery-Parker Conference Chair APEX - BRINKMAN PCA CONFERENCE 2017 PROGRAM OVERVIEW The APEX - BRINKMAN PCA Conference 2017 will be PCA s 14 th biennial event bringing 450+ industry people together over 3 ½ days on 9-12 th July 2017. Adelaide was selected as this year s host city due to its accessibility of quality farm tours sites and the brand new first class venue, the Adelaide Convention Centre, West Wing. The state-of-art, hi-tech venue also prides itself on using local, fresh produce which is our forte too! The successful formula includes a large trade exhibition with 60+ booths open for 2 ½ days. Sunday afternoon is open to the general public to maximise exposure. Then 2 days of technical how-to speaker presentations followed by hydroponic greenhouse farm tours on the Wednesday, for registered delegates. The conference provides industry education and excellent opportunities for networking and business between growers, their allied trade and interested parties. Networking is fostered in many ways and this year we launch a new feature with a central Hub space in the middle of the trade display which will be transformed into a busy Happy Hour Bar each afternoon. A perfect place to meet with industry peers, make new connections and reinforce relationships face-to-face. We look forward to welcoming you to Adelaide in July 2017.
