THE IGA PERTH ROYAL SHOW The IGA Perth Royal Show is a not-for-profit event that preserves and promotes our heritage, culture and community spirit. It is the State s biggest and most iconic annual celebration attracting up to 400,000 visitors to Claremont Showground each year and providing significant economic and social benefit to WA. Established in 1834 by the Royal Agricultural Society of WA (RAS), the Show has touched the lives of generations of Western Australians by championing the success of our agricultural and regional industries.
THE ROYAL AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY OF WA The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RAS) has played a central role in WA for more than 180 years and has coordinated the State s icon event, the Perth Royal Show since 1834. As a not for profit, member based organisation our activities are community and industry based and the revenue we earn is invested into initiatives that support the community. As well as staging the IGA Perth Royal Show, the RAS is responsible for venue management of Claremont Showground which hosts up to 250 events each year. The RAS is committed to education and provides a range of high school and tertiary scholarships for young West Australians as well as a curriculum based education program that teaches primary school children about agriculture.
