workshop details Music Class 1 & 2 Richard returns to NODA again with two fast paced singing workshops. This year with each workshop covering different material, Richard will take you through hit songs from different composers covering different genres, styles and challenges. The music of Andrew Lloyd Webber will make a topical appearance too and with Richard s sought after arranging skills, new and fresh takes on classics will make for a proper vocal workout. Throw in some technical singing tips, fun but invaluable exercises and lots of good humour, both workshops will have you sounding tip-top and are not to be missed. Movement 1 & 2 Following through with the theme of all things Lloyd Webber the Saturday movement workshops this year will use the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber during both sessions. With numbers from SUNSET BOULEVARD, STARLIGHT EXPRESS, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, CATS, JOSEPH, PHANTOM and EVITA Kenny will put delegates through their paces in workshop sessions that will provide appropriate levels of challenge but most importantly enjoyment for all! Fresh from directing and choreographing productions of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, CATS in Germany and restaging some of his work on STARLIGHT EXPRESS for a promotional project for ScotRail, Kenny will provide a fun, energetic and inspirational workshop using some of the most well-known musical theatre repertoire of all time. It s Good to Talk A chance to meet with representatives of clubs from all over Scotland to share ideas and seek solutions to problems. Members will also be updated on initatives being taken by NODA to help support amateur theatre and those tasked with running member clubs. Drama 1 & 2 Drama 1 Acting Disnae Need Tae Be Hard Join H-arts in a masterclass of having fun with acting! We ll be looking at using that well-known, serious performance genre DISNEY! You ll work in teams, applying the Disney theme to all sorts of real-life situations, re-thinking well-known theatre scenes and well, silly is good. Please do feel free to bring your favourite Disney props, toys, costumes. At the end of the two hours, we ll share scenes in our Disney Showcase Extravaganza! It doesn t get sillier than this Drama 2 Committed Pondering a little, useful and light theory, we re going to reconsider where our role interpretations come from and how we can find and create a truly believable character through our performances. Straight and dramatic acting to really hold your audience! Comedy roles underpinned with irony and/or realism! Comedy character as opposed to caricatural The importance of body language in this layering of character. We ll use all we ve worked on to devise scenes around the subject of THAT Committee Meeting ( a topic FULL of options rooted comedy and tragedy). Before finishing, we ll share our creative genius with the others. Meet the Rights Holders With many of the major rights holders in attendance at the conference this workshop will provide them with the opportunity to update members on current and future releases during a series of short presentations. There will also be the opportunity for members to ask questions during a Q & A session.
