Destination NSW Focus On Japan 2019 PROSPECTUS Workshop & Dinner Friday, 31 May 2019

Event Overview Focus On Japan 2019 in partnership with Qantas will take place in New South Wales (NSW) from Wednesday, 29 May 2019 to Monday, 3 June 2019. Tourism suppliers from NSW are invited to attend a one-day workshop held in Sydney on Friday, 31 May 2019 to meet 30 key Japanese agents. The structured workshop will include one-on-one appointments with Japanese agents, followed by further networking at a dinner event. The Japanese agents will also attend a pre-workshop familiarisation program in Sydney and a post-workshop familiarisation program in Regional NSW. Focus On Japan is designed to showcase Sydney and NSW products and destinations to key Japanese trade partners. Ultimately, the event is designed to increase overnight visitor expenditure to NSW. Market Profiles Japan is a key market for NSW, with the latest results from the International Visitor Survey for the year ending September 2018 showing that Japan is NSW s sixth largest international inbound visitor market. In the year ending September 2018, NSW welcomed 179,800 visitors from Japan with visitors staying 3.7 million nights. Visitors from Japan spent an estimated $393 million in NSW making it the sixth highest ranking market in terms of expenditure to NSW. Additional market information Japan can be found on the Destination NSW website Event Objectives The objective of the Workshop is to grow overnight visitor expenditure in NSW by: Increasing destination and product awareness Raising the profile of NSW tourism suppliers Growing business opportunities for NSW tourism suppliers with Japanese key trade Creating opportunities for NSW tourism suppliers to contract with relevant key partners Educating Japanese agents on Sydney and NSW tourism products via the NSW familiarisation and workshop programs 2

The cost of participation covers every element of the event, and there will be no pro-rata discount for partial attendance. If the number of NSW tourism suppliers meeting the selection criteria exceeds the maximum number of registrants for the event, DNSW has the right to apply a 'first in first served' limit based on the date and time the application is submitted, prior to the registration deadline.
