The Public Transportation Department regularly revises routes and service to recognize changes in travel patterns, improve on-time performance and serve you better. We understand our service changes can impact your ride and we want your input. Comments will be accepted April 4 - May 7 at 5pm. Effective Date: 7/2/2018 Frequency of service Service reliability On-time performance Span of service Travel time How often a bus comes along a particular route. The ability of buses to consistently maintain their schedule. How often buses arrive up to five minutes after the scheduled time. This is an indicator of service reliability. The time from when service begins in the morning to when it ends in the evening. The time it takes for a bus to travel from one stop to the next.
Summary of Proposed Service Changes 11 Government Hill / Fairview This route is separated into two routes. The new Route 11 will only travel between the Anchorage Senior Center and City Hall. Travel times will be modified to improve on-time performance. Government Hill will be serviced by the new Route 41. Frequency: 60 Min 21 Mountain View Two options are being proposed. Please comment on which option you would prefer. Both options will no longer travel to downtown and travel times will be modified to improve on-time performance. Option #1 This alignment travels in one direction counter clockwise. The travel time is longer than option #1, but it provides an opportunity to transfer to the Route 30 on Debarr Road. Frequency: 30 min Option #2 This alignment travels in one direction counter clockwise. The travel time is faster than Option #2, but it does not provide an opportunity to transfer to the Route 30. Frequency: 30 min 31 Northeast This route will terminate at Northway Mall and will no longer travel to downtown. It will also be realigned to travel to the Muldoon and Debarr intersection. This will allow transfers to the Routes 10 and 30, as well as access to the Fred Meyer and Wal-Mart. Travel times will be modified to improve ontime performance. Frequency: 30 min 41 Government Hill This is a new route that was formally part of the Route 11. It will travel from City Hall to the Anchorage Museum, Bluff, Hollywood and Loop and return to City Hall. Travel times will be modified to improve on-time performance. Frequency: 60 min AnchorRIDES Premium Zone Chugiak / Eagle River The Municipality of Anchorage s (MOA) Public Transportation Department (PTD) is proposing transferring the operation of AnchorRIDES in the Chugiak / Eagle River premium service area to the Chugiak Senior Center. The Chugiak Senior Center will operate Monday through Friday (excluding holidays recognized by the MOA). Chugiak Senior Center currently operates a transportation program between 8:30AM and 5:00PM. Updated hours of operation are not yet finalized, and will be confirmed prior to July 2 based on input and requests received from eligible riders utilizing the program. Proposal Date: 4/4/18
