I must give the pattern guys credit where credit is do, their weekend was truly a mixed bag in regards to the weather but them boys nutted it out and did not let the cool temps, little bit of sprinkles and some wind stop the event. Great job Bill, you put on a great event. The IMAC was a great event as well with over 30 planes, their event was blessed with better weather all together with higher temps and much less clouds in the air for that weekend. As usual the HMM grill was open for both events and I just want to give a very big Thank You for you guys that were there and helped bring in a little scratch for the club but most of all make the events much nicer for the participants and crews. The field is now starting to show the results of our hard work and again I want to give a big Thanks to those who have been there working and supporting the our efforts to keep the weeds down and put in extra effort to make the field much easier to use for all. The next time you come to the field you will notice that we have garbage cans from CR&R spread out under the shade structure. Thanks to Vince and his latest recruit we now have garbage service for the field. The rules of the garbage cans are still the same (NO CRASHED PLANES GO IN THE CANS NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!) YOU WILL BE FINED $30.00!!. So let s keep it simple and small for items that get thrown into the cans, and there should be no trash left out to be blown away. Reminder: Last one out at the fields, please lock the gates and throw your garbage away in the cans. Metropolitan Water District Aqueduct Information for Retrieving crashed aircraft. Mike Thompson is the service representative that services the aqueduct near our main field. If your airplane is behind the second fence and not in the water runoff it is serviced by Mike Thompson. His direct line is 626-844-5610. Note: Before calling be nice and explain that you are with the Hemet Model Masters and that you have crashed you re rc plane beyond the second fence and would like to retrieve it without breaking any laws. If your plane is between the first and second fence it is serviced by another agency (Securitas Security), Mike Thompson can not help you. Hopefully this will help our members to retrieve their aircraft. FAA Guidelines All aircraft that are flown using a ground control system, such as a transmitter, are required to participate. This includes fixed-wing aircraft, not just multi-rotors or drones. Any pilot flying models weighing between.55 pounds (or 250 grams) and 55 lbs is required to register. You only need to register once every 3 years. registermyuas.faa.gov Friday, April 13, 2018 Dear members, We need your help. There is talk that the next reauthorization bill for the Federal Aviation Administration will eliminate the Special Rule for Model Aircraft also known as Section 336 which has allowed AMA to manage our members and fly safely and responsibly, as we have for over 80 years. Losing the Special Rule would be a devastating blow to our hobby. Please click here to send a letter to your elected representatives in support of the Special Rule for Model Aircraft. http://www.modelaircraft.org/aboutama/protect336.aspx This is a critical moment to let your elected representatives know the importance of the Special Rule for Model Aircraft and the role of community-based organizations such as AMA. Our community has operated safely for decades long before the recent advent of drones. Model aviation has played a critical role in the innovations of new technology and encouraging young people to pursue an interest in science and technology fields. More than that, this long-standing hobby has been passed down from generation to generation and is a tradition for many American families. We need your help to demonstrate the value of the Special Rule for Model Aircraft not only for our community, but everyone. Please make your voices heard by contacting your elected representatives today. Sincerely, AMA Government Relations Permanent TFRs issued for major sporting events and Disney properties On October 27, the FAA issued three Permanent Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) creating restrictions for the airspace surrounding major sporting events and the Disney properties in Anaheim CA and Orlando FL. The new flight restrictions permanently prohibit the operation of unmanned and radio-controlled model aircraft within roughly 3.5 miles of both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World theme parks. The restrictions are also in place for a period of one hour before and one hour after major sporting events.
AMA AND FAA REGISTRATION REQUIRED
SHOW & TELL Mario brought in his new Yuneec Q500+ Video platform. 5 flight modes. He also brought in his L39 Sapac 70mm EDF. This ARF??? Took a lot of time to put together, very basic kit and poor instructions.

SAFETY ARTICLE We must always think safety when at the flying field. Things can happen in a split second. Spinning propellers are the number one cause of personal injuries in this hobby. One second of carelessness on your part can be very, very damaging. Starting or running motors under the shade structure is against HMM club rules. This means ALL motors, Gas/Nitro/Turbine and Electric. All electrics should have a kill switch on radio!! IMPORTANT NOTE All members are required to carry a first aid kit and fire extinguisher in their vehicles when flying. You never know when you or a fellow member will need some aid. Be prepared!! We strongly urge that no one fly alone. SAFETY AT THE FLYING SITES PLEASE ADHERE TO CLUB SAFETY POLICIES, THESE WERE PUT IN PLACE BY YOU THE MEMBERS AND A FEW OF YOU CONTINUE TO IGNORE THEM. Starting of any engines is north side of yellow line, aircraft facing runway. No taxing in the pits and staying within established perimeters, exceeding 400 ft ceiling. We have full scale aircraft overhead all the time and it only takes ONE incident to lose our field. No flying over the field workers on adjacent properties EVER! The Hemet Model Masters April Birthdays David Chizlett, Rick Fite, Americo Giordano, George Mannning, Lawrence Vasquez and Mario Muniz Jr. We would like to welcome our newest members to the Hemet Model Masters Noah Yaney and Michael Hanson
