Kent Michael 316-682-4403 ACCC s Web Page..... http://members.cox.net/accc Message from the Prez... Well I hope everyone enjoyed the month of August, it has been one of the best I can remember. We had our Corvette out quite often this month to take advantage of the great weather. Our drive-and-eat this month went to Suppesville golf club where we had a great meal. The drive out was wonderful; it was top down cruising weather for those of us that can put our tops down. Many thanks to Greg & Marie for hosting this great time even though Marie didn t make the trip, it seems she was baking a cake, Oh Right! Sure! It s membership dues time again, please fill out a form and complete all areas so we can update our information. We are already planning the annual awards banquet and we have been gathering up door prizes for months. The club has purchased some of the door prizes, and club members have generously donated some. We still need more if anyone would like to donate something. The Funkahauna drive-and-eat (not to be confused with the normal drive-and-eat) is coming up on September 12 th (look for the flyer) at Newton airport. This is going to be a great event, and a good chance for club members to get together and visit and have fun. This is also a fundraiser for the club, there will be a small entry fee and food (the eat part) will be sold on site. This is a great chance to have fun, meet other club members and support your club all in one afternoon. And we get to eat too!!!!!! See you at the meeting, Kevin. Page 1

September, 2004 Volume 37 - Issue 9 Minutes from the August 4, 2004 ACCC Meeting The August meeting was brought to order by President Kevin Mansfield promptly at 7pm at Don Hattan Chevrolet. The July minutes were approved and seconded but I did want to correct a slight error instead of Dave Boller resigning the vice president position it was David DaMetz, sorry about the mistake. Kevin talked about recreating the by laws of the club so we would have them in place for anyone to look at, somehow over the years they have not been saved. We will be discussing this more at the meetings. We had one guest John Drummond with a 78 Corvette, thank you John for coming. Gary Henderson reported checking account has $351.51 and savings $1,071.78. Our club dues are coming up so don t forget so we can get those in early this year. Renewal membership has gone up to $45.00 and new membership is $50.00 just going up total of $5.00. The trip to Bowling Green has been postponed until early spring due to not enough participation at this time due to a lot of other events going on, more on that later. Southwind Corvette Club will be having there car show August 14, at New Market Square on the west side of town. The auto cross in Salina in October has been canceled due to problems. Officer at Large Connie Fitzgibbons discussed the point system and the Awards Banquet coming up January 22nd. John Fitzgibbons brought shirt samples to try on for size and everyone ordered what they wanted, should be in soon. Swap and Shop has an 85 Corvette for sale, call Don Crigler. Have Fun, Stay Healthy Secretary Mary Mehl Friday, September 3 Drive & Eat Meet in the parking lot south of the Ice Sports Wichita Skating Rink 505 W. Maple. Hosted By: Kent & Louise Michael Group Leaves Promptly at 7:00 PM Wed Aug 25, 1:19 PM ET Protests from seven safety groups prompted General Motors Corp. to pull a television ad that shows a young boy driving a Corvette sports car so recklessly that it goes airborne, officials of the automaker said on August 25, 2004. The groups, including Consumers Union and the Center for Auto Safety, complained that it was 'the most dangerous' spot they have seen in recent years. The 2005 Chevrolet Corvette C6 is introduced by General Motors Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rick Wagoner at an auto show, Jan. 4. (Gregory Shamus/Reuters) Page 2
