The Largest Shipyard In Thailand Unithai Shipyard and Engineering operates Thailand's largest shipyard, located within the country's main international deep sea port of Laem Chabang, which is at the heart of Thailand's chemical and oil tanker, container, dry bulk, car and offshore trade. In addition, at within 2 days sailing from Singapore, minimal deviation is required for vessels to reach our yard. The yard is developed on 562,000m 2 of prime water frontage adjacent to the main port area accessible by protected deep water, rail link, and an excellent road system and only a short distance from the port and anchorage facilities of Ko Sichang, Map Ta Phut and Bangkok. Core activities of this division of the Unithai Group are a complete range of ship repair, modification, conversion, shipbuilding, and offshore oil and gas fabrication work. As a member of the Unithai Group of Companies, Unithai Shipyard and Engineering benefits from the extensive capability and expertise throughout the Asia Pacific region of the IMC Pan Asia Alliance Group, a regional organisation with primary business interests in shipping, distribution, logistics, engineering and infrastructure development. Capabilities for the Job Unithai Shipyard and Engineering's labour force of over 2,000 people is led by an experienced team of multinational managers and supported by fully developed procurement, engineering, quality assurance, quality control, safety, and training departments.

Unithai combines professional HSSE training with production activities to ensure stakeholder safety, personnel safety, environment protection and security are core to the company culture. Proactive community care programs, employee welfare, Incident and Injury Free (IIF) approach, implementation of TIS 18001, international safety standards and ISO14001 accreditation are the foundations on which the company structure is built. Unithai Shipyard is an ISPS approved facility and has been audited to be in compliance with ISPS by its local representative. Quality Assurance and Quality Control Procurement Placing particular importance on delivering products to high international quality standards, Unithai Shipyard and Engineering has independent Quality Assurance and Quality Control departments. It has developed and implemented quality systems conforming to ISO 9001-2000 and has been accredited accordingly. In order to satisfy the special requirements of projects, the Unithai Shipyard operates its own Procurement Department for the purchase of specialised equipment from around the world. With the support of an established network of suppliers, Unithai is able to procure proprietary products to meet the quality, time and technological demands of the client.

Ship Repair, Conversion and Newbuilding Unithai Shipyard exists to provide quality ship repair, conversion and new building services to ship owners worldwide. Unithai works closely and in partnership with owners to determine their needs and to satisfy their requirements on time and at competitive costs. Since the first ship was drydocked for repair in September 1993, the size and complexity of repair contracts undertaken have grown to the extent that Unithai can provide a complete range of ship repair services for commercial and military vessels up to suezmax and minicape, including: - Grit blasting, coating of hulls, cargo holds, and cargo tanks - Major steel repairs and renewals - Mechanical overhauls - Tailshaft, propeller and rudder repairs - Engine room, deck, hold and tank pipework - Cargo gear repairs and testing - Electrical motor and generator overhauling and rewinding - Ship's pneumatics, hydraulics and electronics - Installation and repair of insulation and cladding for LPG carriers - Afloat repair In addition, local infrastructure provides facilities for hard chroming, galvanizing, fibreglass works, remetalling, in-situ machining, navigation aids, boiler works, metalok repairs, turbocharger balancing, foundry, heat treatment, carpentry, air conditioning work, rubber lining and insulation works. Unithai also maintains joint ventures to provide expertise in strategic areas such as internal tank blasting and coating, corrosion control, steel fabrication, piping and insulation.

Newbuilding The newbuilding division evolved from the existing components of Unithai's Shipyard, and is dedicated to marketing and executing newbuilding and offshore structure. Projects targeted are AHTS, MOTT, tugs and offshore support vessels, and offshore structure such as jack up rig's legwell, spudcan etc. Such projects will involve the combined facilities and expertise of Unithai's various divisions as appropriate. The newbuilding division serves clients worldwide. Its in - house capabilities include engineering design, shop drawings, procurement, project management, construction and outfitting. Our current capacity is 3-4 ships under construction concurrently or a proportionately larger number of smaller vessels. Fully-equipped dedicated workshops are available for panel fabrication and pipes. A gantry crane line is dedicated to prefabrication of steel and hull components. A large hardstand, fully equipped, open building area is available for block assembly. Finally, a 100 metre wide launching site is available for the completion and launching of the vessels. The extensive facilities and equipment of Ship Repair Division complements newbuilding's facilities on an as need basis.

Engineering Design Unithai's team of engineers and draftsmen provide necessary skills related to ship repair, conversion and newbuilding activities, preparing detailed design, shop and as-built CAD drowing. Unithai also draws upon the additional experience of associated companies and design consultants.

Offering first class hotels and restaurants, scenic surrounds and a wide range of recreational activities, Pattaya is a popular destination for international visitors.
