Private James Newcomer of Co B 328 Infantry died on the Moselle River, France, September 9, 1918. On November 11 1918, an armistice was signed to end the direct fighting in World War I. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the war, Western Maryland Regional Library has created a webpage at digital.whilbr.org that highlights Washington County s service men, nurses and YMCA workers.
