The Dream Becomes a Reality Raising the BAR on IDD services in the Brazos Valley
The BAR at Lone Pecan
The ranch as it is today Plenty to work with as is and plenty of room to grow. Majority of current buildings are in an 8 acre area in the center of the ranch with concrete drives. We will expand future camps, but offers a safe and comfortable environment for small first camps. Fenced spaces easily converted for addition of various small animals, specialty animals, large animals, animal rescue and equine therapy for day activities and for camps. Small pool offers swimming in small groups, making it safer (with a lifeguard on duty)
The Barndomenium Centrally located on the property with access from concrete drive, plenty of parking. Half is a comfortable meeting space and kitchen. Other half is currently set up with 4 indoor stalls which could be moved and converted. Pipe fencing surrounds the space and divides the front 24 acres. Large area fenced on left of barn could be converted to a riding area/arena. Dog kennels and fenced areas for small animals.
Meeting and Gathering place The barn was converted to be a meeting place for events. Perfect for day program, camp large groups and special events. It can also be easily be converted to be sleeping quarters for overnight.
Cool and inviting Located at the center of the ranch, with tables and chairs it s the perfect place for day activities, meetings or events. With bunk beds, it quickly can be converted to a bunk house.
The Pavilion by the pond Placed among the trees, next to a large stocked pond. Great for dances, classes, events or just a quiet place to sit, relax and visit.
Hothouse/ Small Gardens Great place for small groups to learn how to grow plants and to tend to specialized gardens.
Plenty of beautiful meeting and gathering places in the shade Various sitting and small outbuildings for classes and social gatherings
Outdoor cooking area Near the pool and overlooking the pavilion/ pond area, this is set up for classes and/or grilling for camps, day activities or for events
Texas sitting area Outdoor classes or nighttime campfire sessions sitting on rocks with a working windmill. This is a little piece of Texas.
It Feels like home, and creates sustainability Full time living on site helps make the ranch viable financially and functionally to develop the remainder of the 52 acres for ranching, farming and our friends. It also ensures the upkeep of the property, the animals and ensures a safe environment. The house and property can also be an income producer as a B&B and hosting events, adding income to sustain the services.
Year around Camps and the Ranch Day Program
Current options for immediate housing for residential camps
Conversion of Meeting Room This option is the easiest and quickest. It is estimated it would house about 18-20 persons. The back space could also be converted doubling the capacity, but would involve construction and relocating stalls.
Glamping Tents converted to meeting space or living space Specially constructed wall tents with windows, floors and netting. A/C can be added for hot summer months.
Possible Temporary Camp and Housing Project Ideas for early years with financial support
Plans to develop a Glamping Village with Modified and Specialty Tents
2-5 year Goal : Create some Affordable and Individualized Ranch Residential Options
