MECCA. Motor Enthusiast Club Central Australia Inc. Presidents Report September 2013. Dear Members, This has been a busy year for the club; we have had a number of runs and supported a number of events since July. The July run to Aileron was very good, the meal at the Aileron Roadhouse was quite good. It gave Stuart and Marie the chance to put some miles on the Jaguar. The August run to Standley Chasm went well, unfortunately my Harley broke down and was transported home by Don McInnes. The meal at the Kiosk was good and everyone enjoyed the day. The Riley Club visit to Alice Springs was a huge success with a very good attendance, a special thanks to all of the people that helped out. The club helped at the bar for the Transport Hall of Fame reunion in August. A few more volunteers would have been nice. From all accounts the club members that were there did a good job. We may have to get more people next year, remember we use these funds to pay for our insurance; the club fees will not cover the cost to run the club. Thank you to those that helped out. The September run to Corroboree Rock was cancelled as most of the people that would have gone were on holidays or did not want to take their vehicles out in the hot weather. We had a good morning tea and yarn at the Masonic Lodge, so we did not miss out on having a good time. A big thank you to Marie for providing a nice morning tea. Next month s meeting and AGM will be on the 6th of October, the first Sunday rather than the second Sunday. The Bathurst 1000 will clash with our normal meeting day. All positions will be vacant at the AGM. If you would like to fill a position please put your hand up. The position is for the next 12 months and can be very rewarding. It would be appreciated that you commit your time for the whole term so you can support the committee and the club members. You get out what you put in. If anyone has an idea for future club runs please advise the committee, if it cannot be organised for this year it can be scheduled for the future.
Remember if your club car is off the road you can still attend meetings and runs in your everyday car. If you need any information about club activities please call me. See you on the next run. Safe motoring. Col Jarrett. Phone: 8952 6261. 14 th September 2013.
